Update:
Late in 2003, I found and purchased a 1991 Mercury Topaz GS. This car had 87K original miles. Mint interior, only minor body issues. In addation to that, at about the same time I scored a set of polished 7 spoke rims from a 1993 Topaz GS. I also replaced the plastic valve cover with a performance valve cover that is painted "old ford blue". Early in 2004 I purchased a set of GTS head light covers and a hood bra. I also found an 89 Escort GT front bumper that I hope to have in the next few weeks. The problem is that it is red and my car is white. I have yet to decide if I'm going to paint it before putting it on. Pictures of the car to come soon.

One of the few shots (from when I first got it)
I got these rims for $50 with new tires.
Not bad, only 86K original. Runs good, and doesn't seem to use or leak any fluids.
This was taken at a get together, the red topaz is my friend Doug's. You will notice the grill is black. I have already swapped the blackout grill from my LTS on to my GS.
