Be patient.

I installed an actuator that lifts and lowers the gate. No handle -inside or out. I engineered the entire unit myself. At the time there were no kits on the market to do this. But since then I have seen one but I don't like it much because you have to mount the actuator to the tailgate where it will be in the way. Mine is against the bed side and uses a cable that mounts to the edge near the stock cable. The total lift time is about 4 secs, and it is also hooked to my alarm so I can drop the gate as I approach it. The unit is all contained in a small box on the inside of the bed-hardly noticeable. I finished it today and it works perfectly.
