Fly4spd's 1983 Ford Mustang

A little about my car:

Mods to date:
-MSD superconductor cables, very good I suggest them to everyone.
-BBK Longtube headers ceramic coated, a little more expensive but they don't turn blue like the chrome and they keep the engine bay temp down
-BBK O/R x-pipe the reason I cant pass smog
-Flowmaster original 40s (dumped), very loud inside, but gives a nice tone I wish that I could have afforded Borla mufflers
-Road Demon Jr. 625 CFM
-Petronix 45,000 volt coil
-Steeda Tri-Ax shifter (thumbs up)

As you can see I havent gotten front rims yet, those things are expensive

Free/cheap Mods:
-Flipped over air cleaner housing lid, those things are restrictive
-Opened the non-functional reverse hood scoop, now it allows hot air to escape the engine compartment
-Replace cap and rotor somewhat often, they make a pretty big difference

I originally picked up my car at a junkyard. For the first year it looked like this, but for $900 and running pretty well, not a bad investment, although it still needs a lot of work. I saved and got parts, saved some more, fixed something that broke, and the process repeats itself.

After a year I found some spray-can primer, with stuff to remove the rust, and decided my car needed a make over. Not to bad huh? (If you plan on trying this yourself, it will need touchups about once a year.)

Carburetors are good and bad, at least in my experience, they are awesome on the power side, they are somewhat easy to tune. On the down side, with my experience, they break a lot, its just me and it pisses me off.

Hood pins were installed because the hood latch would disengage at speeds over 80 mph. Luckily I had the safety latch, the safety latch eventually started rubbing against my radiator, so out came the safety latch. I just need to remember to always make sure those hood pins are done up right. People seem to have the nerve to try to unlock my hood pins and try to look under the hood (thank god the hood latch is still there). That kinda pisses me off.

Future mods:
-331 or 347 stroker
-forged pistons
-AFR 185s
-Front rims and tires gunmetal Cobra Rs
-Drag radials (nitto 555r) on the rims I have now
-Weiland Stealth intake manifold
-Aluminum radiator
-Upper and lower control arms (maximum motorsports??)
-Paint (jet black)
-8.8 inch rear end with 3.55s
-custom gauges (mine dont work perfectly)
-MSD Ignition- 6al, blaster 2 coil, blaster distributer

nice stang. how about the transmission mounts? my stang is pretty solid underneath, but the trans mounts are rotted to nothing for some reason. i know a guy with a 92 ford truck having the same issue.
