When I finally got around to cleaning the corrosion off of my positive battery terminal, I found I'd let it go too long. The result was a broken terminal during cleaning. Since Nissan has so many connections going to the positive terminal, I'll have to get creative on the replacement...
Here's what it started out as:
Replacement Terminals I bought at Wal-mart:
So here's the latest:
I've completely taken apart the stock positive Terminal assembly, and here's what it looks like:
Instead of trying to get fancy and solder new wires and terminals onto the fusible links, I just used a dremel cut out the part of the connector I needed to keep, shown here in red:
Then I polished it up with the dremel and reassembled the connectors:
Now it's ready to mount!
Here's my current build progress: I went with new 2 gage wire to a distribution block. This way, when it comes time to add an efan, power inverter, and other accessories, they'll be a breeze to wire in.
Alrighty, here it is all installed in the truck. I ended up using a plastic outdoor junction box that I bought at Lowe's to be the bracke to hold the power distribution block. I've still got two ports left on the block which I'm planning to use for auxilary fuse panels later!
