Well, I just made the first step to starting my SAS:
I have obtained a D44 from a Wagoneer:
So after months in storage, I finally got a chance to start breaking down the axle for a rebuild:
Got the axle pretty much broken down and cleaned up:
Just need to install new 5.1 gears and some kind of locker or limited slip in it now...
As for the truck - after hours of grinding, The front frame is free of all the old IFS brackets, and has been plating to add strength:
It's pretty much ready to have shock towers welded in now!
Undersneath, I've installed a new crossmember which acts as a raduis arm mount, and skid plate for the transfer case:
