Car is back, damage from the rusty spot was worse then we expected. had to be patched, so the engine will be mounted in December, but the engine bay is all nice n painted. Have to clean up my trans, bolt it to the block, then mount. Jan-Mar = Wiring nightmare. Will post pics next weekend of the engine bay.

oh hey, look at this, a year has gone by...Well the car's engine bay has been painted and the engine/trans mounted. She comes back to my garage next week. then begins the wiring. She should be ready come spring!!! I CANT  WAIT! this build has taken too long but hey, when you work in nyc and ur car is in lancaster....it makes it tough to do work on the regular.

Stay tuned.

Ok Update:

Car is still waiting on paint. My body guy is getting married so we had to put off spraying the car until after his honeymoon, so we wait. Once the car is painted the engine will get dropped back in. Currently molding urethane motor mounts for the car. I have to order the oil filter remote adapter for the engine yet, but that wont happen until the car is resprayed and the rear hatch is retinted. (That tint is bubbling like lava man, its disgusting haha). But stay tuned. I will start posting pictures of the build again in November.

Greetings once again, well plans have changed a little bit. My friend who i was building the car with passed away in July. His house is going into forclosure and I had to find my own garage. So, this being done, I have changed my strategy a little bit. Heartbreaker is going to get a respray in the next three months, due to the winter last year in new york destroying the paint. Since the engine is still out, its easier for my body guy to do so he is taking the car in the next couple weeks. The engine drop will commence in January.
Stay tuned for pictures of the body prep work and pictures of the motor.

Well the wiring harness is in Miami right now. It should be back in a week. I thought this would be a good time to go over some of the issues the car has had since I moved to NYC. Coming up i78 in Jan, a truck tire exploded and slammed into my car tearing off my exhaust at the muffler. Drove from Allentown,PA to Brooklyn with no muffler...Rolling across Staten Island just after i got the muffler and s pipe replaced, i hit a pot hole and the exhaust broke at the cat. Two weeks after that the engine started to run funny, then the starter stopped working along with the door handles...All these events prompted the engine swap. The poor car was plagued by electrical gremlins, failing valve seals and aging equipment. It was time to breathe new life into the car. So i scored a ca18det from a silvia with uncut wiring harness and ECU.
New Equipment for the car is as follows
Autometer: Volt/Water Temp/Oil Pressure
AEM: Boost Controller/Gauge
Apexi: Turbo Timer and Dual Chamber BOV
FMIC: 28x6x3
Clutchnet: Stage 2 Clutch
Stainless Turbo Header
Dash: Blue LED Conversion
Headlamps: Sealed Beam to H4 Conversion
Crime Stopper Car alarm/power door lock conversion.
I will post pictures tonight.
We are just waiting for the wireharness to come back from Miami to install the motor.

The swap is taking longer then expected...still waiting on parts...starting to get annoyed with the wiring, will post pics soon...the old motor and wireharness are out of the car. The det is on a stand, and waiting on the header to arrive to bolt up the turbo and all the coolant lines. What killed the old motor you say? bad valve seals...i outta smack my dad for not replacing them when he took the head to the shop....

Newest Update 01/25/06
Heartbreaker is in the body shop getting work done on her drivers side rear quarter panel....i get her back on friday. ill take a picture for the site :)

Update 01/10/06
Ok, on the 23rd of december 2005 Heartbreaker was involved in a hit and run, luckily we caught the ppl in the parking lot at the mall...the girl driving had no license. She went to jail... so Geico is picking up the tab for the body damage. i blew the clutch about a month before that and replaced it and a bunch of other things, but the hyrdo system for the clutch is dying now...due to the stress of the new clutch and being 17 years old...so now i have to replace that too. my mother is going to reupholster the seats for me in black and red leather. and i will begin the work on the interior soon. the suspension will finally get upgraded this spring before the car season begins due to the fact i can afford this stuff now cuz of a new job :) YAY.
Anyway stay tuned for more updates.

Update 06/03/05
Ok people, "Heart-Breaker" is back on the road. Currently i am having sensor trouble and the car will not idle correctly, so im trying to iron that out. The struts are starting to go so the suspension swap will take place in July. ive ordered a new wiring harness for the engine, and have installeld a ridiculous amount of new parts. Still need to pick up nismoplsr's hood for my ride, and oh yeah ive aquired a 1982 chevrolet Corvette ;-D. so the family is growing. I will be doing stereo work this summer as soon as the mechanics are straightened out on this thing. Got the new carpet for the interior and i just went nuts with powder coating, i hope to have new pics up by the end next week, and ill post some pics of what the vette looks like right now which isnt much but you'll see why i wanted it :-D.
Later,

UPDATE!!!!! 09/03/04
Ok dudes! NEW PICTURES ARE UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Check PAGE 2!!!!

the pulsar has undergone MAJOR intake design changes. While in Japan visiting the street racers of Izumi, i located a ca18det intake manifold complete with sensors and injectors. So that was aquired as well as the injectors from a silvia q of the same year. So currently under my hood sits a newly adapted CA18DET intake manifold and throttle body with Q injectors. No Computer mods needed. the intake run was made from a aftermarket kit from an eclipse. it was shortened by 8 inches to fit inside the car with the battery in the stock location. so now all i need is to pick up the hood from Nismoplsr and ill be all set with the cold air mess ;) lots more powdercoating done. and the radiator will be added is brand new, finally!!!! the car loves the increase in airflow, with a stronger pull in the high section of the RPM range! stay tuned for new pics of the redesigned engine system ;)

This is the all mighty CA18DE.
This poor motor finally passed into its next life in April of 2007. She was a problematic motor, but we had lots of fun together.
