No other name in automotive history says "muscle car" like GTO. When introduced in 1964, its performance list included words like tri-power, "four on the floor" and a 389 cubic-inch V-8, and the car virtually defined true street performance.
After a 40 year hiatus, Pontiac resurrected the nameplate for the 2004 model year. In 2005, Pontiac added a more powerful engine - the 6.0L LS2 - and I have the honor of owning one.
Introducing my Impulse Blue Metallic (IBM) Pontiac GTO with Bermuda Blue Leather. Purchased new from Bill Sullivan Pontiac, it is one of only 228 produced in this conformation.
While I lived in Gurnee, IL these are the two license plates I sported. I loved that GTOAA plate. After all, have many people have a picture of their car on their license plate?
I was able to find a genuine Holden by Design (HBD) Bermuda Blue steering wheel, gear shift and parking brake on ebay in Australia. The car really should have come this way!
The Goat started to show signs of strut rub...
...so it was time for some new wheels and tires: 18"x8.5" Privat Kontakts wrapped in Goodyear Eagle F1 GS D3 235/40ZR18 91Y
I added a CAI, SAP front spoiler & grilles , clear side markers & an JHP rear spoiler. During installation, I had the body shop delete the "6.0", "PONTIAC" letters and badges for a smoother, cleaner look. Its hard to tell, but all the external lenses, including the Commodore VXSS taillights, are covered with a light smoke vinyl from Grafxwerks.
Went on a Goat Run:

I started to notice steering wheel vibration during braking. Time for new dba cross-drillled and slotted rotors.
Of course, I had to customize them.

I finally got around to getting HID foglights to match the HID low beams and LED markers.
