I bought the car in june 2002 only mod it had was tinted windows

not long later the mods started to flow. new wheels they are 16" advanti racing 'flash"

then jetspeed bodykit and the start of my obsession with lowering king 'lows' springs and munroe shocks

i then ripped out the whole interior, painted all the plastics black fitted some new black plush carpet and black roof lining
pics of the plastics loaded up to take to my painter

plastics now all painted black

at this stage i had got everything organised for my stereo so i began work on a simple boot install once the rear plastics were back in.

everything was then all fitted back into the car i also had a go a retrimming my door panels (in black and blue of all things, not sure what i was thinking)

next i decided it was time to go for a bit more of a cleaner look, so the old mouldings were ditched in favour of smooth colour coded ones and the striping was removed.

it didnt take long and I got sick of the plain look so I made up some graphics (i work at a sign shop so i had access to some specialty vinyls) and chose a chameleon grean to purple

after this I was starting to be a lot happier with the look of the car but it still needed a few things, so I ordered some new wheels, after my top 3 choices were not available and waiting 3 months I chose these Vault 'sniper' in 18", I also bought some eye lids made by x-racing and stumbled upon a zender rear wing which I had to have, while these were getting painted I had the mirrors and door handles colour coded aswell

my exhausts finally turned up after about 6 months of waiting

while searching the net one night I came across some clear tailights(they were the first set in Australia)i thougt this would finish off the rear end nicely

by this stage I was starting to become very tired of the average looking interior so I thought id give it another shot at a retrim myself, this time i wanted a colour that would contrast with the car, so I went to foamland (a local upholstery supplies store) and checked out some colours and to my surprise I found a green vinyl that matched the paint colour perfectly so I walked away with some green and black vinyl.
first up was the door build outs, made them out of mdf and fiberglass then covered them in vinyl

i stripped all the only vinyl and foam off the top section of the original door panels and remade the main panel of the door using 3mm mdf then covered them both in 6mm foam then in the vinyl

dash (this was the biggest pain in the arse I swear ill never do it again)

mystklrolla's 1989 Toyota Corolla

at this stage I was pretty happy with the car but it needed to be lower, bring on some king spring 'super lows' i was now much happier with the way it sat.
