In Feb. 2007 I picked up this old Cavalier as a winter beater and a second car. Needless to say I wasn't impressed, but I've come to like this little 3 speeder! haha Yes it is a 3 speed automatic trans!
The picture below is about 10 minutes before the heater core blew. Apparently Chevy used plastic heater hoses...But the new core is in and has metal tubes!

Couldn't help be play with the car a little bit at first. Considering I'm young, and the car is a TBI, I had to tinker with it. Found that the intake tube was half-ass'ed made 20 years ago, so I cut it clean:

And added in an open filter I had laying around:

The car was whacked before I bought it, so I took a trip to a local junk yard. Picked up a new fender, lower valance, and a early 80's trans am Wing!

In another trip I picked up a set of fogs from a Grand Am:

So after driving the car a little more I figured it would be a good learning tool. I decided to go around the car and fix any body damage. Needless to say, this task has become a multiple month project. Along the way messed with a few parts that were going to be stripped or replaced. Also shaved the antenna!

Right now the car sits with the driver side rocker completely repaired, and 3 of 4 doors have all dings removed/bondo'd. The 4th is on its way and the passenager side rocker is coming along. I started stripping the roof, but have yet to finish.
Here are pictures of two other Cav Projects under way:
