This is my 1967 KE15 that I bought in 2002. It had been off the road and the subject of a bit of a cleanup. It is in original condition (bar the paint which had been redone- kind of badly) right down to the glass fuel filter with replaceable element. Used to have 12" whiteband tires which I've still got in the shed.
I drove this car everyday for around 3 years when I de-registered it and replaced it with a car with longer highway legs. The only problem it caused I thought of selling it, but with the luxury of having garage space have kept it since.
Plans at the moment are to overhaul the steering which needs new idler arm bushes, and to rebuild the back brakes.
The bodywork needs a bit of straightening at the back due to a rear end shunt that had been badly repaired before I bought it. I've never been able to close the bootlid properly and it always rattles. There are also small patches of rust in the bottom of the front and rear gaurds.
I'm keen to get this back on the road as I've really missed its revvy little 1077cc engine and raspy exhaust note. It is such a well balanced car with good disc brakes, sharp steering and a crisp gearchange. I disliked the body roll (on tall tires) and it had a habit of taking left hand corners on two wheels. So I wouldn't mind lowering the springs and fitting anti-roll bars to the front and rear.
It could use a little more power too as the small motor has to be thrashed (which it luckily can tolerate due to 5 bearing crank and square bore x stroke) to keep up with traffic. A worked 1200 with hotter cam, ported head and 5 speed gearbox is on the cards. I also have a Weber 28/36 DCD carb that I'm going to rejet for it.
