The New System in My Xplorer ( Installed: 10/14/08 )
I sold all of my JBL subs....... and my bass team is now sponsored by sundown audio, DC Audio, and Power master products.
So Here is what I have added to the back of the X:
4 DC Audio Level 4 15s
4 Sundown Audio 1500 watt amps
2 Sundown 100.2 amps for my highs
2 Power master 3100 batteries
A custom 2tone fiberglassed painted box to match the outside of the truck (16 Cubic feet of Air space)
Eight 4" chrome painted Aero Ports
I haven't gotten metered yet, but when I do I will put up a picture of my score.
Also, my amp rack is under contruction. I will post pictures when it is complete.
My new DC Audio Level 4 15s compared to my old JBL 12s......
The magnet is HUGE!! The sub weighs about 50 lbs.....
These 2 pictures were taken by different phones so the colors look different b/c of the brightness contrast set in both my phone and my friend's phone.
Here is a good look at how deep the subs are mouted into the box......

My system was a big hit at the last show in Hampton, VA Jan 03, 2009. Drop Jaw took this picture and said it might be in their next magazine which comes out in April. I will keep my fingers crossed.
My new amp rack. It hasn't been painted yet and my other 2 sundown 1500s are currently wired in my truck. I just wanted to put a little preview up of the progress I'm making and what its going to look like when I'm finished.

All 4 of my sundown 1500s.....wired up and really puttin it to my DC subs. I didn't realize that the wires would take up so much room, so the amp rack has to be re built to cover all the wires. It may not look pretty now, but its definately loud...no doubt about it!!

A good look at my score on the TL....I am a daily driver so the box is tuned really low.....35 hz. Still a badass score on todays meter :)
I GOT RID OF THE 4 15s AND HAD TO STEP UP MY GAME......
WHOLE WALL FIBERGLASSED AND PAINTED (FRONT AND BACK)
- 6 SUNDOWN NIGHTSHADE 15s
- 6 SAZ 1500 WATT AMPS TO POWER THE SUBS
- 2 SAZ 100.2 AMPS FOR THE MIDS AND HIGHS
- 4 POWER MASTER 3100D BATTERIES

Starting from scratch.....again

Layout for the back of the wall....
Everything taped off and ready for the fiberglass and bondo work.....

The fiberglass work under way......

Front of the wall all built, reinforced, and cut out. The inside of the wall as well as the outside of the wall is fibeglassed. Each wheel well has about 8 coats put on it. All together the wall has about 3 gallons of fiberglass that was put to house everything. The wall is double layered with 1 1/4 inch wood so its 2 1/2 inches thick all the way around with 4 custom cut 2x4s to reinforce the inside.

The wall is finally painted and ready for everything to be installed. Here is the front of the wall. You can see how it's fiberglassed from door jam to door jam....not just the wall. More pictures will be coming soon of the back and when everything is installed

All 6 nightshade 15s mounted and ready to pound.

I have 8 sundown amps for the system. 6 Sundown 1500D amps for the subs and 2 sundown 100.2 amps for the mids and highs. Here is a pic of all the amps freshly mounted up and ready to be tuned. Still got a little work to do before the system is complete.
.....still not done yet, but getting there. Still got a few more tweeks to do before the system is done. Wall is tuned to 36hz.....
