My Fireball Roberts Tribute car made the front cover of the Ford Galaxie Club of America's bi-monthly Gazette !

Another victim of the modern age, it graced one of the last club issues in print form.

Downsizing of the California Highway Patrol has really gotten out of hand...

When I'm not playing with my Galaxie or hanging around car shows, you can usually find me at the track doing one of my "other" jobs. Here I am doing an on-camera interview with 1988 CART Champion and 1985 Indy 500 winner Danny Sullivan. I was announcing (and interviewing) for Club Auto Sport: Uncorked at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.

(You might also get a clue where my nickname "Cowboy" comes from.)

For another NASCAR-themed professionally-produced video featuring yours truly at the 2007 San Jose Grand Prix,

"Project Fireball" is the continuing saga of how and why I endeavored to re-create an historic NASCAR legend and share it with the world.

You'll also get a little insight into Fireball's  "Mobil-ization"... a CarDomain/Mobil 1 promotion that netted me a cool $1,000 in July of '08.

(More Mobil 1 stuff below. Also check out page 16 for still more Mobil 1 fun from the contest.)

So... what do you do when you're a life-long stock car racing nut, big-time fan of old-school NASCAR, love old Fords (enough that I bleed Ford Blue, folks), happen across one of your all-time favorite model and year of cars on eBay one evening, and once again get an itch to try and bring an old dream to life?

Such are the humble beginnings of a 9-month-long journey; a project that is actually the culmination of a 30-year dream. Starting with the purchase of the car on October 1, 2006, the dream I call Project Fireball was restored and proudly debuted on July 9, 2007.

It's a bit of a long story, so grab a beer or two (provided you're of legal drinking age, of course), sit back and, hopefully, enjoy! And if you feel so inclined, drop me a line or a guestbook entry and let me know what you think.

But be careful while you're checking out the story... you might actually learn a little vintage NASCAR history along the way!

You might even run into a couple Hooters girls! They tend to come in pairs...

Speaking of a pair of boobs... here's my best bud Don Hartwick, a.k.a. LedZeppelin and me, showing off a couple of awards we earned on another site which has since gone defunct.

I took the Sponsor's Award for Best Domestic for the 3rd quarter of 2008, while The Other Don earned his as the site's Advocate for the same period.

There are some real artists here on CarDomain!

Beyond the owners/builders on here, there are alos some folks with true artistic talent.

The great graphic at the left was done by friend and fellow CD denizen NES.

Check out his other cool work and his pristine '97 Thunderbird!

I'm proud to say that Project Fireball has remained consistently ranked in the Top 10 of all Galaxies on CarDomain and in the Top 100 of the nearly 85,000 Fords on CarDomain. While I'd like to take the credit, it is the voting of YOU, the visitor, that makes it all possible.

THANK YOU!!

Here is the 2007 "Special Edition" Hot Wheels issue of the "Mobilized" version of the Fireball... this one is from the personal collection of LedZeppelin !

Sorry... it is sold out and unavailable. Even I do not own one. It was manufactured from a substance called "Unobtainium".

And now a word from our "sponsor"...

Today's question: How many times does 1 go into 22?

Answer: 5 quarts at a time...

Mobil 1 is the Official Motor Oil of NASCAR.

Many NASCAR race teams use Mobil 1, regardless of direct sponsorship.

So do I, because I like what it does for my Fireball.

Okay, and the $1,000 I got in July of 2008 does give me cause for some "brand loyalty".

I have other toys.

This is me with my grandson Izayah, perched upon my '07 Honda Shadow. With it's classic cruiser stance I referred to it as my Honda-Davidson, but I recently sold it and upgraded to a new bike.

And now, my new bike, purchased 12/14/11 - 2008 Suzuki M50
