this is my bronco 2 that ive had for almost a year now ive been modfiying it and doing stuff to it since its been bought. First i made it 4wd, then i lifted it a bit, then i put a stereo in it, then i made it 2wd again, and currently ive just finished swapping in a 289 out of a 1966 mustang. however its no stock motor and i intend to build it up even more, because who would expect that sound coming from a bronco 2?
here she is just after i made her 4wd with a 4inch body lift and 31's
Testin out the newly discovered four wheel drive haha
and heres quite a few pictures from my 289 swap:
heres some of my table of goodies that are intented to be installed
heres before and after pics of porting and polishing my heads, it takes about 40 hours to get everything perfect, and youve got to know what your doing, but its supposed to release about 40 horse because the crappy casting and restrictive emission nobs that do nothing

heres the bottom end together bored .030 over
and here she is ready to rumble, looks like its moving while standing still doesnt it? haha
and now heres a rapidly sped up series of pictures of my engine compartment

in the beginning..there was a 2.9 (gutless) v6

next she got all the wiring disconected and all easily removable stuff removed.

out with the tired v6

got my firewall all painted up, might as well while the motors out

and presto one factory v8 equipped bronco 2
unfortunately its not quite that simple i did run into quite a few problems and had to fabricate quite a bit but its mobile now and sure rocks!
dang...tragedy strikes and after putting 50 miles on her i broke a press in rocker stud... i took the heads back of and got them machined so i could install screw in studs guidplates and roller rockers. I'm back up and running now and she even seems a bit more snappy. more pics to come!
