Ruggedyman's Ride:
TOYOTA CORONA
2.0  16valve   3sfe Engine

ru_ggedymahnns 1996 Toyota Corona

This is my ride, a Toyota Corona . I got it second hand but still a roller workhorse and can really pull hard on a long distance driving. I may say that I'm quite contented in its driving performance. It is almost in a stock form which I modified just a little bit on the exterior to have that Euro-concept look, the Carina E.  I just added some "spice parts" but still in line with its stock specs. Just plain beautiful and simple, nothing too rice and fancified.

I love this car and it is serving my family almost daily for 6 years now without giving me that much headache.  I had some  repair on this,..some scrubbings and rubbings ,...a little tweaking on that.., but still on the go.   It is not a flashy one but surely this ride is really a dependable one. Satisfiably roomy from headroom to legroom, with power enough for my daily and out of town needs....Plus!, we can bring our luggage for a week long vacation (but NOT  the jet skis of course ha ha!) .  And more importantly, it is still aesthetically graceful even though its been more than a decade model. A real executive-family saloon....I just want it clean , neat.. . . and dropped just a  little low .

Here are some pictures of my ride that I can humbly share specially to those corona enthusiast and  eager to take a Toyota Corona as part of their daily ride.

Installed a Bosch HID on those crystal smoked headlights with an 8000 kelvin rating.

From the inside, well I'm not much of a sound-bomber jack, I prefer more of a sound quality listening.  An alpine for a headunit, ....a Kenwood kfc-6051e for the separates. .... a Soundstream 5 channel amplifier  would do to chill me out.

Just a plain Audio CD believer....With an Alpine Ai-Net CD changer mounted underside the deck for my Audio files, so not to get bored on those long trips and traffic jam.

....And a Rockford Fostgate P1-10's  Subwoofer for a little  "fire in the hole" under my trunk.

The different wheels that I've used for rolling my ride:

- My 14 inch Stock (OEM) rims with 60series tires.  Always keep a set.  These ones very useful specially on long and out of town road trips.  Very dependable too....no worries on harsh roads and bumpees.
