Where to start... For the last three years I have been a motorcycle *addict*; I would ride or work on bikes nearly every free second. Motorcycles were my life, I talked everyone'sear off about this gadget or this riding trip.. it was great! I would ride in all weather (well.. not snow.. ppl here lose their freakin minds when it snows!!)
I was riding to work on December 8, 2006 when a 82 year old a**hat turned left in front of me. I dodged his truck but I wrecked. I don't remember much about my 4 day hospital stay but the end result is that my left arm is paralyzed and is sending pain on a level that I never knew was possible. Imagine being kicked in the junk randomly through out the day, every day.
Since the accident I haven't been able to work (thank god for disability ins. through my company; if you have the chance, get it!!) and I've been very low. My passion, my hobby? betrayed me & let me down. Lucky for me, my buddy knows me pretty well and brought up a car sitting in the back of his dads' land. "You could fix it up & have a free set o wheels?"
There were a couple of different cars back there & I was given free reign. I decided on this wagon because it was the best looker out of the group. The interior is in good shape, not nearly as bad as I thought. The car was parked up because there was coolant in the oil so with an aluminum block.
Well I was set to have the wagon towed when I passed by a collision center with quite a few cars inside their chain-link fence on the outskirts of town. On closer inspection I was blown away; there were cars covering the last six decades, a 46 Nash wish a brick (cinder block) sized hole in its windshield, a Dodge Charger "with all its? parts, check the trunk," a four door '69 Tbird, an oooooold Porsche and a 1961 Galaxie. None of these cars ran, most had rust, dents, missing trim and the like but they were all.. well.. now I know what the term ?Arizona car? means. The biggest surprise was that none of these vehicles were over three grand! Suffice it to say I nabbed one; the 1961 Galaxie you see here.

Well as you see her she was just being dropped off at her new home. She?s a 1961 Ford Galaxie 4 Door Town Car with what remains of aquamarine and it?s green shimmer/vinyl interior. I?d be lying if I said the packrats had been tidy. It honestly seemed as if they ran out of space to crap and moved on... jerks.
My goal with this beauty is to get her running and then spend time and money on looks.
I'm going to use this as a photo diary of this car project.
