This is my little Prizm. I have dropped two years of my time into it and, for what it is, I believe it is fairly unique. When I bought the car, it was completely stock. I bought a brand new set of Falken Torue 5's and Mastercraft Avenger tires. After mounting a new turbo bullet style muffler and a new APC wing, I began to trim some body fat (back seat and trunk) while making some minor cosmetic improvements under the hood.
After driving the car for a while with those minor improvements, I wanted to do more. I began rearching and buying small things, such as guages, neons, shift and brake boots, and racing pedals. I found out that my Prizm was powered by a Toyota 1ZZ-FE and was almost in exact likeness of the Corolla model for that year. I Found some TEIN S. Techs to drop the car a few inches and a Ractive Strut tower brace to stiffen the chassis in a hard turn. All these parts were made for the Corolla.
I wanted a faster shift so I fabricated my own short shifter from the stock one. I really put her on a diet when I cleanly stripped her door panels and lower dash panels. She is sooo light, almost 1350 lbs- I think. The muffler started sounding bad so I recently replaced the exhaust with a custom Magnaflow cat-back system. It sounds like a full race car compared to most cars in its class, which sound like angry piss-ants.
I also replaced the old Mastercraft tires with new Fuzion HRi 205/40/R17's. Normal wear and tear over the years (past owners and such) is causing me to have to replace the struts very soon, but I still take great care of her. Nothing but Castrol GTX and K&N Filters have been used on the engine. I installed a new clutch kit a couple of months ago. I can't say I wouldn't like to own a faster or more powerful car, but I know I will never get rid of this Prizm. I did all the modifications myself on a college student's budget. I am very proud of her.
