Through the last two years with this car; all good times and all the bad, I have learned and experienced more than i ever could have imagend. Uncountable hours of cleaning, wrenching, and most importantly knowledge gained from reading. I've learned it's not always what your driving but the drive itself. Pursuing that one feeling, no past and no future, just the moment.
It all started working day in and day out on my first car; 1994 Cavalier, leaving no part of the car untouched. It gave me my profound respect and passion for this culture and all of its aspects.
My status in the culture is not to impress or beat anyone but to showcase a little of who i am through my car and enjoy my passion responsibly; knowing there is a time and place for everything. Save the racing for the track.
It is not just about how loud or how fast a car is, its how well all the aspects of the car work together. It should be about what a car truly is, a symbol of passion and creativity. The perfect balance of complete control and complete chaos. Through the next months i hope to accomplish some short term goals i have set and generate a better understanding of the abilities and possibilities my car possesses.
So try and keep up, Its going to be one hell of a ride....

Think about performance street cars and motorsport for a second. Whats the first automaker name that comes to mind? Saturn of course... not.
In an attempt to massage peoples perceptions of the plebian brand General Motors took to Wendover, Utahs Bonneville Salt Flats on Friday, October 17, 2003, with a highly modified ION Red Line quad coupe, racing it into the record books in the process.

General Motors veteran and pro driver Jim Minneker is congratulated by his crew after setting a new land-speed record at the Bonneville Salt Flats in a modified Saturn ION Red Line quad coupe Friday, October 17, 2003. A top speed record for the G/Blown Fuel Altered class. No small feat, the pumped up ION tromped on the old record set by a modified 2001 Honda Civic by a convincing 209.196 mph.
