I haven't updated the page since I bought the car. I've put over 11k miles on it since purchasing it, rally crossed it three times, driven it hard all over the place, and replaced the crappy Remington XR120 whatever tires with not-as-crappy Falken Ziex ZE-912s. The rear bumper has broken more, the antenna mast has been removed, with a new one waiting to be fitted, the muffler removed due to a break in the exhaust flange at the axle-back section, and it has been dyno'd; she put down 120fwhp and 128lbs/ft of torque. Pictures of rallycross action and the dyno sheet are forthcoming.
This is my '95 Nissan Altima GXE. I picked it up because I wanted a vehicle I could daily drive with no worries, learn how to drive stick shift on, and had fuel injection (ever dealt with starting a carburetor-equipped car in freezing temperatures?); this met all my requirements.
It has power windows/door locks/mirrors, cruise control, manual transmission, am/fm/tape stock head unit, rear drums, and no limited slip differential. When I bought it, it had just under 135k miles on it; it's past 135,500 within under a week of driving it.
Things that it needs:
- windshield seal on driver's side
- fasteners for front left & right inner fender shields
- middle timing chain guide removal
- rear bumper cover replacement
- trunk release fixed
- spare tire hold down installed
Possible future mods include engine & transmission mount inserts or filling the stockers with polyurethane, shifter rod bushing, B&M shifter, SE rear anti-roll bar, Ground Control Coilover conversion, Koni dampers, Energy Suspension & SuperPro bushings, rear disc brake conversion & 15"x7.5" wheels.
