Here she is guys...
Dont take too much notice about the notes, as I need to add ALOT of things to it... And there will be heaps more pics to come, but I have hidden them somewhere...

The Beginning:
Here is the 1985 Toyota Corolla when I bought it on the 10.03.2005.
It was a 100% origional and in really good nick. I never had ANY plans on modding it what so ever.
A month or so later, I lost my licence for three months, and the only thing letting the now-nicknamed Rolla Bus down was the black around the windows!
So, first day of no licence she got totally stripped and sent to Highway Crash Repairs (HCR)! (Unfortunately I never got any paint-up photos...)
Why do all this to a Corolla?!?! Why the heck not... I figured there are enough Skylines and other similar cars about, but why be a sheep and do the same?!?! :-P

The Project Starts Here:
As you can see, it didnt take much convincing to change colour all together! Origionally it was going to be painted in Blood Orange, but settled on Acid Rush from the BA Falcon colour range.
Before losing the licence, I had some 17" rims, an exhaust, Autotechnica twirler and gear knob put on it!
As you can see in this pic, it was HCR's first time at tinting tail-lights, they were nowhere near as dark as they are now.

While I was going to all this trouble of changing duco colour, I had to do the engine bay also! So out came the mighty 4ac. Below, the Rolla Bus is back at home. I put all the interior back in and all audio wiring thru the car.
New front window went in. Here the Rolla Bus got towed down to dads brothers house ready for the welcoming of the toughest 4ac in Tassie... HAHA

The Mighty 4ac:
Here she is in all her glory! Freshly rebuilt and painted! Complete hone and bore, port and polish, one-off custom ground Crow Cam (I get asked if its a rotor when it idles) etc... Gearbox got overhauled for good measure! Also, new radiator, new hosing, everything in the bay was new!

The 'Rolla Bus' Motif Was Created:
It was now I finally got a font together and the Rolla Bus motif was made!

The 18" Rims:
At this stage, the 17" rims (Ill post a pic of them later) had gotten a little bit of gutter rash! Beaurepairs Kingston came thru with the goods and I ended up with some nice big 18"s. Here is when I put them on to test if they were going to rub or not!
But with the ride height as you can see, there was no chance of that haha!
Lowering:
With the 18"s bolted on looking all sexy, she had to come closer to the blacktop... In went some King Springs all 'round! New KYB rear shocks went in also, fronts are still waiting to be changed!
Here she is before lowering...
And after... mmm, much better!
The ae92 Corolla Dash Conversion: Who Said It Couldnt Be Done?
With the interior out, I focused on something that I wanted to be a centre-piece of the interior... The dash!
The origional was boxy, and the cluster looked like a massive veranda (below you will sorta see what I mean).

9am I arrived at Moonah Wreckers and at 10:20am and $200 less, I was the proud owner of a ae92 style dash!

It took my father and myself 2 hours to get the VERY basics mocked up. Here it shows just after the dash pad itself was cut to fit the different shape of the ae82 windscreen. No brackets or anything had been fitted at this stage!
There was tho, alot of cutting of the origional metal supports. Some of which had to be modded to accept new bolting positions of the new pad.

In order for the whole conversion to work correctly, the steering column from the ae92 had to be used also. Here the steering column is removed and the new 'beam' that runs behind the dash has been fitted (also from the ae92) with minor modifications.

As above, minor mods to the 'beam' brackets were made and new holes drilled where it didnt align with the origional holes.
The last part of mock up, and it was the biggest pain in the arse also! Getting the main brackets that ran down from that 'beam' to the tunnel to support the centre console (ae82 dash had none). If these brackets were not straight, the console wouldnt align with the dash pad!!!

The final stage:
Once again, its a damn shame I didnt take more pics. But the dash pad went to HCR for smoothing and a black base coat (along with all plastics, I had the wonderful job of sanding them all smooth). The black is actually the same mix of black used on S-Pack EA/EB Falcons. From there Nathan from Nathan Hill Designs did the airbrushing with Rolla Bus motif. The loom also had to be modded and spliced so that the ae82 loom worked with the ae92 cluster...
Custom Interior:
Rolla Bus then made its way to McPhersons Auto & Marine trim for a full custom retrim. Including roof lining and new black carpet. The roof lining is the same material that is used in BA and BF Falcons.

Door handles and window winders were colour coded to suit the new interior. Custom 'glass door pods were also covered and secured on door trims.
Rear seats were trimmed in the same felt as the door trims. Rear head rests had Rolla Bus motif stitched in to continue the theme! New two piece carpet was also put in with very thick sound deadener. All plastics including the ones running down the b-pillar were also covered in the same material as the roof.
Rear Bar Smoothed:
I wanted a smoother looking rear bar. If you look at some above photos, there were two tow-hook holes in the rear bar. So they were filled over (plastic welded) and painted.
Boot Install:
Looking at the car now, I felt the origional boot install was really letting it down! Here the start of boot install number 5 begins... And I only had 3 weeks from thought, to design and fab, to getting it painted and 'brushed... MASSIVE!
I was able to salvage the big sub box from install number 4 and put a new front on it as the other front was cut out for the perspex. I used this as my starting and reference point for the whole install.
Here shown with the Response TV and custom aluminium support bracket:

I really liked the look of engraved perspex so I wanted to work that in with the new install! Access Plastics came thru again with the Rolla Bus motif engraved on the underside! This piece will later be attatched to a thin MDF divider covering the two Response 4x100w amps.

The divider that the perspex will be attatched to...

Here I was trying to figure out how the feck to mount the D-Block amps... Took alot os stuffing around (belive it or not). Especially trying to work out how I was going to run the wiring!!!
Here I have dumbied up there Pioneer subs in the boot sub boxes! Behind the main 'wall' are another two Pioneer subs as well ;-)
Was at Nathans one night having froffies and talking about designs, we decieded to mask off the car and paint a few bits that were still silver in the boot!
If there is one person who I felt seriously sorry for, was Nathan! At this point, Im sure he was sanding MDF in his sleep!!! Everything was made silky smooth and primered ready for paint!

This is where I started to get excited (with only a week to go to get her finished). Everything got covered and cleared in the same black as used on my dash...

And the finished product! I was still putting this together on the way up to the 2006 DA Australia Show 'n Shine event (where I took out 'Best Car')!!!

The Stereo Consists Of:
- JVC CD/DVD/MP3 Headunit
- Clarion 7.5" Foldout LCD (in dash)
- Response 7" LCD (in boot)
- 2x Response 4x100w Amps
- 2x Resposne 1x800w D-Block Amps
- 2x Response 1-Farad Caps
- 4x Pioneer 12" Subs
- 4x Xplod 6.5" 3-Ways (front stage)
- 2x Xplod 6x9" 3-Ways (rear stage)
- 0-Gauge +/- Wiring
Bonnet Airbrushing:
With the 2007 TassieNats event creeping up, I wanted to have something different and fresh done to my car...
Introducing MoeLien...
The first stages of the design. He origionally found the design on the back of a helmet, traced if from a black and white magazine page and freehanded it to my bonnet! Pretty damn cleaver if you ask me...

Aerial Removed:
Also, a few more mods were done before TassieNats... I removed the aerial and smoothed over!
Interior Gets Removed:
05/05/2007
Latest so far is that the interior has been removed and is sold! It will now be going in a ae82 Seca living in Ulvestone! Making way for a new full leather interior... Custom of course ;-)
'Rolla Bus' Gets A New Heart: The Build Up!
04/07/2007
The biggest thing to come for the car was the new heart. A bigport 4agze from a AW11 MR2 and my god was I excited!!!
Like a kid at Christmas...
Here, the 4agze is now pulled down completely! The block, crank, head etc are all getting tested, honed, etc...

While the engine was sent off, I thought it was time to trial fit and cut the front bumper ready for the intercooler...
Here I had to make brakets (which need some serious tidying and polishing) for the cooler to fit...
Bought a 4age gearbox, half shafts, big brakes/rotors, and also ae82 strut brace for an absolute bargain!!! Unfortunately I just couldnt find an LSD...
SC12 Supercharger is now fully detailed. New red rubber hosing and hose clamps. All painted in black enamel... New oil for SC coming soon...

As soon as the engine had hit my doorstep, I had pulled it apart and sent all pieces to get chromed and polished to Tasmanian Plating Services in Launceston! Heres an example of what my manifold looks like!
Last week, I got my cam cover plate back from NHD (Nathan Hill Designs) from getting air brushed! The engine bay is going to be a very similar design!
Also picked up my brand new TRD teflon coated HG...
Today, I spent the best part of the day cleaning the gearbox... NEVER AGAIN, crappy friggin' job it is haha! The picture below shows the gearbox in primer ready for a lash of paint... Not the best weather for it, but it had to be done!
I just couldnt help myself, I wanted to see what it looked like! So here it is NOW in 'red tinter'... Trust me, the photo doesnt do it justice... ITS BRIGHT!!!

By now im SERIOUSLY over cleaning and painting shit, so I decieded to install the more beefy front struts!!!
Here are the old struts (with yellow springs) and new (shitty looking one) from a Twin Cam...

Because the bigger struts were a 4-bolt, I had to ease another hole (shown inside the red circle). The origional only had 3-bolt...
As you can imagine, the Rolla Bus is now jacked up ALOT up front Now I gotta get some new springs because the new strusts use much larger in diameter springs...

Today was the day (04/07/2007)...
The Rolla Bus is in its resting spot ready for removal of the ol' faithful 4ac.
I got two pics halfway thru todays mission. The dash has now been removed for repair (the sun got it and put two nice 'crow feet' cracks in it). And now the only thing really remaining in the bay is the engine itself...
(06/07/2007)
Today I got the rest of the chrome back from Tasmanian Plating Services and I thought I would do a few things here and there ready for when I pick my block up on Monday (FINALLY!!!)
I thought a little detail on the cam pulleys would be pretty trick... And damn they came up well... (before and after pics)
(10/07/2007) Another flat-out day!
Old fuel tank was removed and a EFI tank and all EFI fuel lines put thru... After that, it was time to remove the 4ac all together!!!

(20/07/2007)
The car was taken over to NHD's (Nathan Hill Design) ready for the engine bay to be stripped and airbrushed!
(23/07/2007) Some serious happenings here!!!
Nathan in 3 days has sanded, cleaned the engine bay and has now got it in the base coat silver...
AND, on top of that has started on the airbrushing! I was seriously blown away with the amount of work he has done so far!!!
Few more pics...
(26/07/2007)
FINALLY! Everything that needed to be painted on the engine, HAS now been painted. There are a few more little things that I now need to get chromed (yep, more chrome)... Will be starting the build of the engine hopefully this weekend!!!
(27/07/2007)
The airbrushing is finished! And wow, what a transformation! Below are some pics of what it looks like before the clear coat!
(28/07/2007)
The Rolla Bus is then dragged to a local crash repairs (where Nathan works) ready for a few coats of clear, then baked for a few hours!!!
Rolla Bus is then taken back home ready for the engine to be dropped in... The picture on the right is the final look with clear coat (note: the steering rack etc has been painted and detailed)!
(05/08/2007) The rebuild starts!
My father and myself started the rebuild today! We only got enough time to do the bottom end as the weather was seriously cold! Hopefully, I will have time to slap the head on and a few other things tomorrow!
(15/08/2007)
FINALLY! I have some time on my hands to so some work!!! Got the head fitted, cams and maifold on today! I also picked up my new water pump which also got primed and painted (this is now waiting to harden). Tomorrow, I will be picking up my flywheel and clutch so I can get the gearbox mated up with the engine!
Red and chrome... Instant porn ;-) Note: Metal plate behind Cam gears...
(16/08/2007)
Very exciting day today! Everything is pretty much finished! Just have a few things to add (belts etc...)! Hopefully will be dropped in the Rolla Bus next Monday!
(25/08/2007) 4agze Meets The Rolla Bus
Today was the day marked for the engine to go in! With the help of my father, next door neighbour and my mate Stagz we got it in with minimal fuss!
Here, the engine is finally removed from its cradle and is finally a complete piece with gearbox...

DAMN, that red looks a treat against the engine bay!
(12/09/2007)
Its been a while since I have posted here, but today I got my car at Moonah Mufflers ready for the custom intercooler piping! Will post pics hopefully tomorrow or Friday with the finshed job ;-)
(20/09/2007) Intercooler Piping!
For the last week or so, the car has been at Moonah Mufflers and Dale has done a damn good job getting all that 2-inch piping to stay under the bonnet!
A new exhaust is also getting done as well in 2.1/4 with CAT etc...

(01/10/2007)
While Rolla Bus was home, I thought id make stronger and nicer looking FMIC brackets... MUCH better ;-)

Stay tuned people ;-) More to come shortly!
