Laguna 2.0s 16v RTI

This is my Renault Laguna 2.0s 16v RTI, 140 bhp @ 6000 rpm / 182 Nm @ 4500 rpm.

The RTI is kinda rare, because of the engine. The first type 1 phase 1 Lagunas were mainly equipped with 8 valve engines. The RTI is the first 16 valver with the N7Q engine, which is basically a Volvo V40/S40 engine. In combination with the short gearing it gives the car a rather racy character and feeling. When doing 0-60 mph, the car isn't really that fast (under 10 sec) due to it's weight (1280 kg). More important is the fast accelleration between 60 and 100 mph due to short gearing. Here in Europe there are a lot of Diesels driving on the highway, which are know for their large amount of torque at low revs. As long as you keep the RTI above 4000 rpm, you can easily tease the diesels :D

I have made a few modifications to the RTI:

- I replaced the original RTI rims with new 17" 5-spoke rims with 215/45/R17 tires.

- I replaced the original gauge faceplates with my own custom designed EL face plates (kinda like Indiglows). I still need to make some changes to the design yet, but for now it's kinda ok, I think..

- I've put some new audio equipement in the car. I kept the original tweeters in the dash, they just work fine. I replaced the original speakers in the front doors with Alpine speakers. In the back I've put the original front door speakers, which will be replaced with new speakers soon. In the trunk I placed a small 8 inch woofer and a 2 x 100 Watt amplifier for a little more bass. Works great! I just like to keep some space in the trunk and I deffo dont want to drive a boombox... Oh yeah, where would I be without a decent head unit :D

- I've mounted daylight leds in the front bumper. Soon I will try to get a set of Audi daylight led units, but because of the shape of the Laguna bumper I'm not really sure if these units can be adapted.

- I'm busy with changing interior colours.

- Also I replaced the antenna, rear spoiler and air intake (open air). I removed the orignal Laguna 1 headlights and replaced them with Laguna 1 phase 2 headlights.

My plans for the nearby future are:
- Open double exhaust (a matter of 2 months or so, I already made an agreement with a skilled welder, yeah..)
- A bodykit, but I'm not too sure about this one. If not, I will just have the front and rearbumper painted.
- Cleaning the rear reflector plate
- Small engine changements like chip tuning and cat replacing.
