This is a Triumph TR8, not a Triumph TR7

Car Description
This is my Father's 1978 Pre-Production Triumph TR8. This is not a Triumph TR7 and was only listed under this category because there is not a TR8 category. This car is also listed on Cardomain in the TR1 section but by the previous owner when he was trying to sell it. It is now no longer for sale. For those of you that are not really too familiar with Triumphs, the Triumph TR8 was basically what the Triumph TR7 was supposed to be until the 1970s gas crisis interfered. This is why the TR7 has a 4 cylinder in it instead of a V8 like it was originally supposed to have and why the TR7 and TR8 look the same. When the gas crisis finally passed, Triumph was able to produce the car that they originally wanted the TR7 to be. The TR8. Unfortunately, Triumph was going down hill and only about 2500 TR8s were produced which makes a TR8 kinda rare to come by. A popular thing to do with TR7s is to convert them to V8 spec which is pretty cool but I think they are still cool even with the 4 in it. OK now on to my Father's car. What makes my father's TR8 special is that it is one of the 150 Pre-production Triumph TR8 coupes that were shipped over to America from Triumph in England so that the Triumph dealers here could test them and see how they performed in this environment. This is before they were available to the public to buy. Pre-Production TR8s can be defined by their serial numbers in which have the prefix "ACN." This particular car has a rare factory installed cloth moon-roof and has been extensively modified from stock By The Wedge Shop which has made it much faster and nicer.
Major modifications include:
 New 4.0 Liter motor (2005) with a #282 Iskey Racing cam installed(cam lift .291; valve lift .467 ; duration 282 ; 050 duration 224 ; lobe center 109).
