Spun Rod Bearing

The engine removal was simple. Just disconnect everything and pull the motor out.

While working my way to the problem, I found a pile of bearing material caught on the oil-pickup screen.

Copper shavings were present in the motor, however, they only made it out of the oil pan because I turned the motor over before taking the pan off.

The culprit... I spun the #5 bearing from all my hard track use without an oil cooler.

The connecting rod and crankshaft were destroyed!

I turned the motor over to remove the heads...

Here is a bare V6 SHO block ready for machining. For 88,000 miles and boost (+ HARD use), the cylinders look GREAT! Cross hashing is still present!

Yes, I reused my old 3L block and bored it to a 3.2L. I have another 0 mile forged motor that uses a 3.2L block. I think either one of them are fine to start with. Yes, I have taken videos and have taken it to the track... http://www.youtube.com/user/yamahaSHO

Very sick SHO. 400+whp is quite an achievement. Love what u did with the engine. I think u should paint those 6 spoke wheels gunmetal though. Have u taken it down the track? Any vids of how this thing sounds? Very impresseive overall 5 stars
