1985 Dodge Shelby Charger This is the first car I ever owned. This is what the car looked like when I first got it. The best 1/8 mile time was 9.95@69.xx mph when it was still turbo 1. In December 1996, an old man in a 1972 Ford F-100 turned left in front of me at an intersection and totalled this car. It was obviously his fault, but I got stuck fixing my own car. I guess it pays to know the cops in Cookeville, TN. This picture was taken after the extensive frame and body repair. It looks worse than it is. Imagine this car blowing the doors off of your C5 Corvette! This is the original engine converted to turbo II. I converted this car to turbo II in 2001. It ran a best of 8.796 @ 81.44 mph on 15 psi and running poorly. I took it back apart in January 2002. A lot of bad luck kept me from finishing the car before August 2004. New Parts Koni Coilovers. That's the front strut on the left and rear shock on the right. Spearco Intercooler Bogart Drag-on Star 3 wheels. They weigh roughly 10 lbs. each. Paint Pictures Here are a few pictures of the car during the painting process. The Engine Is Finally In. Finally Moving Under Its Own Power! I put an SDS (Simple Digital Systems) standalone engine controller in my car. It is by far the best money spent. It is very easy to use and you don't have to wait for a guy 1000 miles away to recalibrate a stock computer. It ran a 12.538@111.71 mph on 15-16 psi in 96 degree heat. It isn't even running close to its potential. 20 psi on the street feels MUCH different. I can't wait until I get it back to the track. The car won 1st Place in the 2 door L-body class. It was by popular vote. It makes me feel like it was all worth the effort. 17" Rage Breakers. I sold these wheels because I was never happy with the way they looked on my car. I now have the crab wheels on the car. I also found a perfect non-A/C radio bezel piece.

i just swapped a 2.2 Charger Shelby, Turbo into a 1983 Dodge Rampage P/U. iam having problems with my transmission "ball" that slips into a rubber bushing attached to the linkage, the ball keeps "popping" out of the rubber bushing. i was told to swap the rubber bushing for a "heim joint" any ideas on this ? rcpatton@webtv.net Thanks Rick Patton
