STEEDA LOWER CONTROL ARM INSTALL
Outa the Box these Steeda Weight Jacker Lower Control Arms are pretty much ready to throw on. The only thing I had to do was to install the swaybar bracket. Bottom view of bracket This is the stock LCA pretty cut and dry stamped steel lots of deflection in the bushings making the handling fairly unpredictable. Removed the Tires and removed the swaybar from the old LCA Had to measure an inch from the bottom of the Steeda LCA to make the ride height close to normal. Then I disconnected the axle end of the stock LCA. I used my jack to lower the LCA down after I pulled the bolt out. I had to put another jack on the front of the differential and jack that up a little bit so that it would relieve some tension on the bolt to pull it out. Had to disconnect the catback exhaust because the muffler was in the way of the front bolt. The lower control arms came with the sleeves for a 98 or older stang so i called Steeda and that day shipped new sleeves that I pressed in in a couple minutes. Installation is pretty much the reverse of install I greased the bushings with some synthetic grease and had to cut the tab off of the emergency brake cable bracket. Putting the swaybar back on was a PITA I thought I put it on upside down but apparently the sway bar just sits low to the ground Update: Noticed that I installed the brackets for the swaybar in on the wrong side so I swapped them over and now the swaybar has plenty of ground clearance.
Handling is much improved no more hop when i romp on it My burnouts feal like I pealing out on glass. and no more weird jolt sideways when i take a really hard corner.
Next issue is the Steeda Adjustable Rear swaybar I am going to let the suspension settle a bit so I have a more precise measurement before i install it.
