philosophy: no rice, no bullshit, just individual character and real-world performance

This is my 1993 Honda Civic DX. It has gone through somewhat of a transformation since I first got it. All pix below are the progression from how it used to be to it's most current form as you scroll down. It's not much but any enthusiast on a budget should understand that it takes time and patience to get what you want. I do my modding one part at a time and tinker on the ride nearly every week since it's my daily driver.

Still has the stock D15B7 motor. Motor swap very soon...

it got broken into in Feb 08 so my Pioneer head unit and Kicker subs were taken.

this list is current:

Under the hood...
Ichibahn engine dress-up
Hayame oil cap
AEM fpr
Vision fp gauge
NGK sparks
AEM intake
K&N filter
oil breather
OBX cat
Tsudo exhaust
Walbro 255 fuel pump
custom-tuned ECU (9000rpm rev limit;no speed governer)courtesy of GotSpeedRacing

Suspension + stop power...
adj. coilovers
front/ itr rear strut bars
c-pillar bar
Power Stop slotted/cross-drilled rotors+pads

Ice...
Sparco pedals
custom short shifter
carbon fiber shift boot
swapped plug+play gauge cluster
custom rebuilt OEM+Autometer tach
GlowShift air/fuel gauge(a-pillar)
Mugen steering wheel
Boss hub kit+quick release
Jensen dvd/flip monitor/touchscreen/cd player head unit
Jensen dash tweeters
Sirius Satellite radio
Pioneer 6x9's
Navigon 5100 GPS

Body...
Mugen front lip
M3 mirrors
jdm amber corner lamps
8000k HID's
custom blue metallic paint(temporary)

I just replaced the distributor housing a couple months ago. The o-rings were shot and ignition wires fried. I put in one from a 95 .

Just got the tv back from FL. It was originally put in my previous civic: a 96 4-dr Civic. Here's the entire setup w/ the inverter & tv module
close2racer's 1993 Honda Civic The tv is a 7" Pyle monitor that's probably almost a decade old. This was back when these cost about a $1000 each.

*UPDATE* 20080330

Well, my car got broken into a couple of weeks ago and my head unit along with my amp and Kicker subs were stolen. the entire sound system. They even took my shades. everything = more than $1000. decided to finally paint the car myself. i did a lot of bodywork before prepping for paint but it's done. i sprayed a metallic blue but i still have a little more work to do. little more clearcoat and i'll be good. don't mind the hood. i'm replacing it.

i bought a Jensen head unit w/ touchscreen monitor and dvd player (yea i know... but it was cheap) as a replacement. Don't have too many pics of the process but here it is...

close2racer's 1993 Honda Civicremounted the sat radio; givin full credit of the idea to someone special, thanks

close2racer's 1993 Honda Civic close2racer's 1993 Honda Civic
also replaced the speedometer gauge on the new cluster i put in from the old one i took out since it kept flickering and getting stuck at various speeds

close2racer's 1993 Honda Civic close2racer's 1993 Honda Civic
here's something you dont see everyday. i dont know if most civic owners know this but the stock tachometer gauge is not accurate w/rpm readings. here's what i did: i completely took apart my autometer tach(which is very accurate) since it wouldnt fit in the cluster and i wont mount it. i took the needle coil windings w/ the board and swapped that out for the stock one and hooked it up the way i had the autometer. no one will ever know you had an aftermarket hook up but it is a great idea. now im set w/ very accurate gauges!

more to come..........
