This is my new toy (as of 6/07), and is a bone stock, all original 1985 Toyota Supra P-Type. It has 124,000 original miles, and I am the 3rd owner.

The engine is the stock 5M-GE, and is plenty powerful to move the car very quickly! I have no plans to make any performance enhancements to the engine, drivetrain, or the car in general. It is such a throwback, that I love it the way it is.

The interior is near perfect, and has some of the most modern features you could imagine for that year. Separate climate controls for the passenger and driver, a 9-way adjustable driver's seat (check out the I-want-to-pump-you-up air bulb for adjusting the lumbar support!), cruise control, graphic equalizer for the stereo, dual lighted vanity mirrors, heated electric side view mirrors, and electric moon roof. The original sticker price for this car was over $19K in 1985, which makes this the most expensive Toyota product that year. (My 1986 4Runner SR5 with every possible factory option available cost me only $16K in 1986!)

Over the next few months, I will be enhancing the appearance of this car by detailing some areas that have been neglected (such as the hatch rails), and trying to buff out the fading of the original rear turn signals - a Toyota tradition in the 80s

Update: Not much to report on this car since all of my efforts (and $$$) have gone into the engine swap on the '92. I did purchase all new rear tail lenses after trying just about everything to buff out the old ones. Wet Okole seat covers are now over the stock leathers, and a TRD shift knob and new stock shift boot have been added. I just pulled the 'old school' stock radio and replaced it with a Kenwood head unit and Polk speakers, and added a Viper alarm for security. I have an all new in the box factory electric antenna to put in, but that is about it in the first year of ownership. Not a whimper from the car, and 3,000 more miles on the clock. But now that the '92 is almost complete, I will be turning my attention to repainting this one. The 23 year old original paint needs a fresh look!
