Mary's 1968 GTX
Jerry finally got my car home today. Tuesday June 19, 2007. I was going to wait until Jerry was finished with the truck before starting work on the GTX. Not, it runs great and sounds too cool to be in the garage.
Jerry has ordered a new power steering pump, a new brake power booster, and some side chrome. I will add additional photos daily.
07/18 Jerry's birthday today. So far we bought two work benches.

I have some cool Mopar links at the bottom of the page. Oh, it was so cool driving home. The car sounds super good already.

Below left Jerry checking a turn signal. Below right Jerry working under the hood with a neighbor looking on.

Below left under the hood. Below right profile photo.

06/23/07 Below left profile photo in our driveway. Below right is a photo showing that the car has origional wheels.

Below left and right. Cleaning and protecting all the chrome on Mary's GX. Did this on Saturday 06/23/2007

Below left and right. On Sunday 06/24/2007 removed all the seat belts and cleaned them. Getting ready for new seat covers, carpet and headliner.

Below left and right. Sun. 06/24-07 spent the afternoon working on the front left and right turn signal indicators. Rusted to no end and the bulb sockets are shot. Got them working and cleaned up but not really good for the long haul. Will have to find them new later.

Below left and right. Photos of Mary next to her car because she said.

June 30,07 Below left a photo of a very dirty air cleaner, next to a new one. For info. The CarQuest cleaner "BA84" was purchased at Boulder City Auto Parts for $3.98 although I do get a small discount as I purchase a fair amount of parts. Below right is the new molded hood pad to be installed after the paint.

07/08/2007 Below left: Fender to frame connect rods. Below right: A big fat 1968 Plymouth repair manual. Cool photos and information in it.

Below left and right.: got new floor mats for the car with the GTX emblem. Kind of cool, and for sure Mary's thing.

Below left and right. New power booster and a new master cylender (in the plastic bag). Both came from Just Brakes and they are very nice.

07/14/07 Below left: Jerry finished up the power booster and master cylender installation. Below right: Jerry working on something under the hood (not sure what).

07/14/07 Below left is a photo with a little bit of wire protector on. Right is the turn signal lamp.

Below left is the parts to jury rig the turn signals, and below right is just a photo of some bulbs. Will post photos of completed project tomorrow. Thanks Dan, for the offer of help.

Below is a vintage 1968 GTX ad. The GTX in the ad is the same color as my numbers correct paint color (we will paint it that color) except I will have the red stripe.
