My car is the 2007 Shelby GT. The CS (Carrol Shelby) number is 07SGT1917. At the time of this posting, Shelby American planned to create less than 6000 2007 and 2008 Shelby GT's. The only available colors were Performance White and Black, in 2007, and blue in 2008. My car is Performance White, with the interior upgrade and the Hurst 5-speed short throw shifer.

All Shelby GT's begin life as specially modified Mustang GT's which are assembled in Flint Rock, MI. They are shipped from MI to Shelby American in Las Vegas, NV for conversion by Shelby. They leave the Ford plant with no spare tire, with the California Special front lower valence, and no rear spoiler (which is how it remains).
As compared to the Shelby GT500, the Shelby GT bears the distinction of being converted by Shelby itself. The GT500's are manufactured entirely in MI, although in 2008 the Super Snakes and GT500KR's were converted at Shelby American, either in Las Vegas, Quantum (TX), or Tasca (RI), as well as the later Shelby 427 and Terlinqua models.
In Las Vegas, Shelby installs the Ford Racing Performance Package on the Shelby GT, which includes the cold air induction, 93 octane tune, x-pipe, performance mufflers and exhaust tips. The EPA has rated this engine at 319 hp, however that appears to be underrated as many cars are producing 325 plus on they dynos.

Also included is the Ford Racing Suspension Package which includes stiffer springs which lower the car 1.5" all around, specially modified shocks, thicker front and rear sway bars (the front is adjustable) and a front strut bar.

Shelby also installs the Hurst 5-speed short throw shifter.

Both interior and exterior have Shelby specific lettering and plaques and trim pieces. On the dash is a Shelby plaque which is "signed" by Carrol Shelby and contains the CS serial number. The hood scoop is the same as the scoop which is installed by Shelby on its famous Shelby Cobra. Finally, Shelby installs the exterior tape striping.

The Shelby GT is a natural-born racer. The Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) has homologated the new 2007 Ford Shelby GT for competition in its T2 class. Also, the Shelby GT competes in the SCCA Solo 1 FS class.

Recently, I hung my Shelby GT poster in my garage, so I couldn't help but take a couple of photos...

Recently I installed my new winter wheels and tires. The wheels are 18" black Ford Bullits, the the tire are Michelin Ice. I went w/ the blacks because I got a great deal on them. Really looks different on the car...

These next two photos show the Shelby GT "faux" gas cap emblem. These emblems were made and provided by Shelby Automotive only to Shelby GT owners. The emblem was designed by a Team Shelby member.

My latest "mod" is Carroll Shelby's autograph on my passenger airbag cover. These autographs are obtained by sending your part or whatever to the Carroll Shelby Children's Foundation (with a donation). The website, for more information, is http://www.cscf.org/donating_autograph.php. I will be posting photos of this soon.
My car is also at Tasca Ford as I write this, where the new and improved Shelby GT hood scoop and hood striping is being installed. The reason for this hood scoop replacement is that the 2007 model Shelby GT's, in particular, had scoops installed which was a lighter material. As such, in extreme heat or cold conditions, those scoops would tend to buckle, get a little wavy and or get dimples in them. The new scoop is a musch stronger material, and is fully riveted to the hood whereas the original scoop was held in place by four bolts and one screw. Photos will follow on this also.
Thanks for taking a look!
