If you accidentally remove the pulley from the hub and your not sure how it goes back on in relation to the timing marks??? The pen is pointing right between the two marks. :)

Or if you havent disturbed the distributor, remove the cap, rotor and sheild. Then look at the reluctor (the thing in the middle with 4 teeth). You see one has a slot in it where a roll pin goes that holds the reluctor in place. Turn the engine till that tooth aligns with the foward mag trigger as shown in the pic below. Then bolt your pulley on with the leading (0*) mark at the timing pin. :)

If your gas pedal feels stiff and funny, has a very short travel, like a couple of inches, and you lack alot of power your backup carb return spring may be off. Look at these next pics. The "teeter totter" as I call it has 2 springs on it, the one on the right is the primary return spring (it has a black plastic shroud over it). The threaded rod has a spring on it too and sits on the other side of the teeter totter. They can inadvertently slip off. In the first pic you'll see how it should sit and look. In the lower pic you can see what it looks like when it comes off.
Right! :)

Wrong! :(

Idle speed and idle mix screws. Red one is mixture, yellow one is idle speed.
