My car philosophy -
Set reasonable goals, do the work myself, and enjoy the process as much as the product. I try to find good deals when I can instead of just racking up debt. Cars are my hobby, not my passion, so I'm not putting myself in the hole just to have the latest brand name whatever that will impress the guys on the forum. Creativity trumps brand names anyway. So, here's the goals for this car:
- Daily driver, weekend warrior. HPDE's and open track days, canyon carving, occassional trips to the drag strip. I'd like to run in the mid 14's.
- 200 reliable horsepower to the wheels.
- Subtle improvements in the looks department. 'Looks better than stock, but I can't put my finger on why?' That's the kind of impression I'm shooting for.
- I'd like to match or exceed the capabilities of some of today's hotter compacts. Targets: mini cooper s, mazdaspeed3, wrx...
