----------------------------------------------PHASE V (Pending More Money)----------------------------------------------

"Phase V - Engine Compartment" will commence after I take a break and after I am able to save up some more moola. I just want to enjoy the 240Z for a while. But "I'll Be Back!"

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As of August 31st, I've been doing some low cost "clean-up" of the engine compartment while waiting to hit the Virginia Lottery. I removed the valve cover and gave it a polish, I removed the windshield washer tank and scrubbed off the red and dark gray overspray, I installed some new windshield washer hose and generally cleaned up as much of the engine compartment as I could, without a lot of effort. I also hit the rubber with some Armor All to bring out some shine. Below are "Before" and "After" pictures:

On the evening of September 1st, 2007 I took the 240Z to a "Cruise-In" at a local Hardees, just to guage the response of the spectators. All comments overheard that evening were very positive and one guy that was restoring a 1974 240Z for a client of his, had many questions and took plenty of notes. I wish him well with his project! I also registered for a local Antique & Classic Car Show, in the 1970 - 1979 Stock Class, to be held on September 8th. I'll let you know the results.

On the morning of September 9th, I installed a new Nissan Battery and changed the oil, using 5 quarts of Penzoil 10w40 and a new OEM "blue" oil filter, in preparation of competing in the "Paw Paw Classic Car Show" sponsored by the Dominion Auto Group in Colonial Heights, VA. I was competing in the 1970 - 1979 Stock Class, against a bunch of American muscle cars in "great condition". See the results of the competition by going to Page 7 - Competition Results.
