SERVICING THE HYPERBOOST BLOW-OFF VALVE

Here is the HyperBoost HX valve
Here it is with the JR mini-filter attached

It is a single piston type with a single spring and is of uncomplicated, but heavy duty construction. After unscrewing the top, the spring remains in the cap and the piston can be pushed out with one finger through the port opposite the cap side. Here it is disassembled

There are two O-rings set in grooves on the inside of the valve body. Remove them with a toothpick and clean, re-grease (I use Valvoline Synpower synthetic grease) and reinsert them into the grooves after cleaning out the inside of the valve body. Carb or Brake parts cleaner work well to clean out the inside of the valve as these are very good degreasers. Carb cleaner seems to leave less residue.
You can grease the valve body threads to ease reassembly and help seal the threads, although the build quality is so good, it does not appear to be necessary for sealing the valve

And here it is cleaned and lubed and back on the car
