This completely rust-free Corvair Monza with the 2-carburetor 110 HP engine lived all of its life in western Nebraska until I bought it in 2002. This is a very plain Monza; the only optional equipment is the tinted windshield and seatbelts. It still has the original paint, but I'm not sure for how much longer. It has lots of chips and scratches in the paint and a few minor dings.

The original owners only drove it a little more than 22,000 miles before putting it in dry storage (about 1972, from what I can tell). It stayed in storage about 30 years, the widow eding up selling it at auction along with some other cars.

That averages out to less than 650 miles per year ;-)

Here we are with the Corvair loaded on a U-Haul trailer in Alliance, NE. Due to its rear weight bias, I loaded the Corvair tail first onto the trailer. That is our 1975 FMC converted Transit bus towing. You can find out more about the FMC
here.

Here are some pics I took right after I got the car home to Colorado. That is with the stock 13" wheels and wheel covers.

I really like the rear 3/4 view.

The interior with stock front seats. The metallic turquoise vinyl is in nearly perfect condition.

The rear seat is in perfect condition, too. Those are the stock seatbelts the car came with, but it's a pity they aren't color matched.

Here are some pictures of the engine. It is a 164 cu. in. horizontally-opposed 6-cylinder air-cooled engine. The SAE gross HP rating is 110, which translates to about 88 HP in the real world (at sea level, anyway ;-)

Notice the oil bath air precleaner in the corner of the engine compartment opposite the spare tire. It keeps the paper filter spotlessly clean!

A nice view of the completely rust-free trunk.

And what it looks like with the stock trunk mat...
