 My Story:

otaiko7's 1969 Ford Mustang

1969 Mustang Grande'
As it sat when I found her.   $1200 on Craigslist San Diego and my lovely wife said go for it!  It had been sitting for 3 years, the rear springs were saggy as hell, heater core was rusted through, and what was left of the interior was in the trunk.   No door pannels, headliner, or carpet and the drivers seat has a hole that I can fit into.

After I cleaned her up at home, she ran good but had no oil pressure, I pulled the motor and had it rebuilt while I cleaned up the engine bay.  There was nothing left of the cam bearings and they were sticking out of the journals around the cam..   Again, my wife said get it running, she was pretty much the driving force behind this car restoration, it was pretty much a get it running or get it out type of deal.  Thank god I found a myself a lady that loved old Mustangs too.

-After Rebuild: I was happy as hell to find that the supposed 302 was actually a 351w.  The previous owner even had 302 stickers all over the engine bay.  I had it bored .020 over with a Edlebrock Performer Plus Cam, got a Performer intake and 670cfm Holley Street avenger carb.  Im Hooker Competition Long Tube headers to 2.5 inch dual exhaust with an H pipe and Flowmaster 40's.  I also changed out the brake booster for a new unit when the old one went out.   The best part was driving through the nice resturant part of town with open headers on the way to the exhaust shop.  Very Loud.  Lots of car alarms and some mean looks from people eating out on patios.

-2005 Mustang GT Wheels 235 45 17's up front and 235 55 17's on rear.

-New Grab-a-Track Mid Eye Rear Springs and ditched the previous owner's rear air shocks for some KYB Gas-a-Just Shocks all around (still need to lower the front though).

-I had to use spacers to get the 2005 wheels to fit correctly and then change the front tire size because it was too tall and would rub the front valance.  1.5" up front and 1.25" in back.  When I'm up for new tires I will change the sizes to 245-45 in front and 275-40 in back.  It should look a little better.  Especially with another inch or so lowered.

-Paint and body starts on Page 2.

In reply to Nessababys: Sorry you feel that way. Maybe your daddy didn't love you enough as a child, I see no other reason someone would be such an ass. I hope you are proud of yourself.
