This is the new sound system I got for Christmas. I got 2 pairs of 6.5in and 1 pair of 4in, Infinity References to replace the crappy Monsoon system. I removed the Monsoon amp and spliced the wires to bypass it. I also got a stealth sub box from
Subthump that holds my 10in Infinity Reference sub. Got rid of the bazooka amp cuz it blew. now I have the infinity 1300a amp that I put in. Now I just got done building a box I designed. Built with the help of friend Lewis (wood cutter) and my grandfather (overseer and handyman) and grandmother (upholsterer by trade). the box turned out Amazing and we are going to start producing them hopefully. Rockford Fosgate wires installed by Auto Xtras here in Lynchburg VA just because I felt lazy but I will never let them do work on my car again because they over charge and they do chinchy work.(my friends civic's sub box/amp rack weighed 80 lbs cuz of random wood that was totally unecessary). I also grabbed a Duralast gold top battery from Auto Zone to give it more juice.
replaced by the 1300a infinity!! way better
NOW BUILDING a custom amp rack my self. it is almost done, going on the shelf behind the back seat. see done in a few days
Now completed!
My radio and mp3 player
same as the front door speakers
The Pac-SwiPS to use the radio controls on the steering wheel. installed by me, AWESOME!!!
New radio installed! Avic d3 by Pioneer. DVD, GPS, XM, Ipod integration, etc. This puppy kicks. The sound quality alone is 1000 times better than the Sony. Why was I loyal to them for so long. I don't know but Pioneer definitely takes the cake. My system has never sounded so good.
The stock bezel trim piece did not fit whatsoever on the avic because it is a double din radio. I had a chop and cut up at the bezel then glue in the frame that came with the avic, then bondoed away at it. Pics of process will be up soon and final product, with custom backgrounds I made on Photoshop (the first pic on the first page). Started 11.19.08. ended....11.22.08.... still need to paint. (11.24)
this is the bezel after its first layer of bondo
. I did not take pictures of the cutting. but here is the process. i cut the top and bottom with the dremel to fit around the new radio. There was horid gaps. then i took the trim that the radio came with and glued it on to the camaro bezel with plastic weld. then i took the bondo and filled in the gaps and then molded the curves and such.
this is the fitting after a few layers of primer and paint and sanding to get it super smooth. Now i just need to repaint.

NOTE: If any one wants to take off the original SS dash badge be super careful because they aren't plastic like the regular camaro ones. THEY ARE GLASS AND SHATTER VERY EASILY.
