I'm quite proud of this little critter, or at least I will be when she's finished. Found in the Indiana Auto & RV, the body is surprisingly straight (though I suspect a small amount of filler in spots) and only has a bit of surface rust from a cross of crappy paint job and sitting un-covered for nearly a year now.
Inside, she's already got a new headliner and carpet, a fantastically clean back seat, and a good dash. The door panels, brand new from Legendary, somehow got fubar'd on installation and now they'll have to be totally re-done, which blows.
Front bucket seats are crap (salvaged from a Camaro, I think), and so is most of the wiring (head lights and speedo work; that's all), but hey... it'll be a learning experience, right?
Check out that pimp-ass tape deck! Haha...
Please pardon the inconsistencies in the engine pic; the photos that make it up were taken from slightly different angles. Her powerplant, aside from a bit of coolant leakage from the freeze plugs, runs rather well for a barely-cobbled-together rat 340. (Yeah, she was originally a 225ci slant-6.)
And, finally, the exterior... *twitch* The paint job is going to be the next thing to go. One, it's a really quickie job, and two, I can't abide the colour (it kind of looks yellow in the pictures, but it's a violent shade of SubLime). So, on 18 June, it's going in for a makeover into Plum Crazy Metallic and all the black bits that were originally chromed (bumpers, door handles, window trim, etc.) and going back to their original shine. Yeah, you could say that my favourite colour is chrome. :-) After that, well, small touch-ups and more chrome as I get the funds, and she should be good to go and turn some heads. Look for her at the 2008 GoodGuys Hot Rod Nationals in Indy. Can't wait! :-D
