Here's my newest Project...
1970 Toyota Corona MKII. This is the 1st of the 2nd Generation Corona's that were sold here in the U.S. It has an 8R-C 1.9 Liter motor that according to Toyota, pushes 109 HP stock... Doubt it. lol.
Anyway, my plans are to make a total sleeper out of it. She needs a lot of work, and thanks to my friends, the Corona has received a lot of the attention she craves.
Here's a list of what work has been done so far.
Motor:
Weber 32/36
Offenhauser Intake Manifold
Pacesetter Headers
Custom Race Cams
Rebuilt Brake Master Cylinder
Interior: (not photo'd)
Vintage old stock OEM look Seat Covers
Newer Carpet
Newer Dash
Exterior / Body:
Rear Quarter Panel Body Work
Replaced Gas Tank
Door Seals / Weatherstrips
There's still plenty of work to be done... obviously. So stay tuned for more photos and updates. Hopefully she'll be ready for the JCCS (Japanese Classic Car Show) in Long Beach, CA in September of this year (2007).
Please feel free to sign my guestbook and advise if you know where I can get parts... besides Ebay of course. Thanks!!!
So here she is... The photo order goes from when I first got her (10/06) until the most recent work (05/07).
When I first got her...
Did some rust spotting and worked on the rear panel.
Front view before the grill was painted and re-polished.
Photo of how horrible the inside condition was. Water got in because the weatherstrips dried up and rotted.
Photo of the original gas tank. Again, water got in because of the bad weatherstrips.
Taking the rust out of the trunk area.
Rust gone! Now ready for the new tank.
Brakes were being inspected and worked on my friends.. Santi & Juan.
Just re-painted the grill and polished up all the trims on it.
The Engine Bay was painted black with some Dupli-Color High Heat.
Engine Bay painting done... Grill temporarily installed. Also, the Weber 32/36 was also installed.
Getting ready for the Intake Manifold and Headers.
OE Cams are coming out.
Cams, Intake, Headers, and Carbs are all installed. Polished up the valve cover as well.
MORE TO COME...
