1985 535i. Purchased in Arkansas and brought back to Nebraska for turbo project.

The m30 had 164k on the clock when the odo quit, so actuall mileage is unknown. The car ran well on trip home, but I ran a compression test before removing the head. The pistons had plenty of slop, but the cylinders looked good, so the project goes on.

After some research, I decided to go with a kit from
TCD. The kit is a stage 3 with the water to air intercooler and
Megasquirt stand alone fuel management. This should be good for
at least 375 wheel horsepower.
With the extra power I'll need to address both powertrain and suspension issues of a 20 yr old vehicle. I'll be rebuilding the suspension, replacing the shocks and springs, installing a heavier clutch and adding a limited slip differential. Last but not least will be cool factor upgrades in the form of euro bumpers and headlights, new tires and wheels, stereo upgrades and a reconditioning of the interior.
Here's some close up's of the gauges I installed. I'll end up putting a dash cap on to cover the cracks- it's alot easier and more cost effective than finding a crack free dash and installing, especially on this car.
Here's the car now with all the euro parts. Only thing left is to strip it back down and paint it. Next year.
