٣: 3RZ TRICKS/REBUILD PICS
ENGINE REBUILD
Rebuilt engine after a rear Balance Shaft bearing worked out and destroyed it.
That was a bearing (the 2 pieces of metal...) and all the metal in the oil pan is from the engine eating itself apart.
Rebuild and Install
INTERIOR RECONDITIONING (clay removal)
FRAME WORK
Straightened the frame and installed a 1/4" Steel Beam Crossmember. Harder and more work than it looks but saved me $2000.

3RZ TRICKS
*Delete Balance Shafts (instant 15-20hp):
Remove all balance shaft gears, guides, and the chain. Slide out both shafts, pop out the front shaft bearings and reinstall making sure the oil holes on the block and bearing do NOT align (you want to block off the oil ports so the oil pressure doesn't take the path of least resistance). Note: rear bearings do not have oil ports, so no block off's are needed.
This mod works great and your truck will not feel like your driving a paint mixer :-)...theres really no noticable vibration at all, it just has a solid feel.
*EGR Valve block off:
Weld shut the pipe ends and install a 10K OHM resistor on the EGR probe sensor (sensor is threaded in the intake manifold near the EGR, unplug and jump connector on the harness end with the resistor.) Plug middle vacuum port shut on throttle body and run vacuum lines on the other two ports to the VSV switch. (see pic)
*Throttle body coolant passthrough bypass:
Remove coolant lines from TB and plug ends w/ vacuum plugs, jump the main coolant line t-fittings with the shorter of the removed hoses from the TB. No point to a cold air intake until that is done, will lower TB temp by 100 degrees.
*RC Engineering Injector Balance/Calibration:
Increased atomization and steadier delivery, overall 20-30cc increase of fuel delivery per injector.
*PCV Oil Catch:
Basic inline air tool water seperator installed on factory hose.
Intake:
*K&N or similar brand drop in reusable airfilter.
*4-5" Marine Deck Plate installed on air box.
*Plastic Resonator removed and blocked off w/ Plumbing Expansion Plug.
*Large metal resonator cut off from intake tube and patched. Brass fitting installed on tube for FPR hose.
*Relocated snorkel
Exhaust:
*Header
*Header wrap
*Remove honeycomb from cat. converter
*O2 simulator (pipe fitting type NOT electical type)
*Stock Muffler (you need some back pressure, forget all the fancy "high flow" units)
*Trans Dipstick relocation (Auto only):
Bend top mount back. Cut, bend, and drill hole for mounting bolt. Mark and drill hole on wheel well and bolt dipstick on. A must after installing a header on an automatic.
*ECT Mod:
See ECT Mod for full write up by Dr. Zhivago.
Other basic performance mods:
*Bosch Platinum spark plugs
*Ported Head
With all these mods done right you'll be able to get the most out of the stock 3RZ block, keep the CEL off, and the MPG's up (I get 18-20mpg mixed on 33x12.5's)

٤: OFFROAD/DAMAGE
OFF ROAD with the Taco!
MudPits 2007
Stuck in Clay Pit!
(anyone who knows clay knows how stupid this was to try!)
DAMAGE
Needed my buddies Skidder to pull me out. Thats what about 15000lbs of suction and a 20 ton winch will do to a frame. Right side took it hard, chain ripped through half the frame. Nuthin a porta-power, square stock, and a welder can't fix!
Up on the trails 2005
Whats that scraping noise?...barely didn't hangup!
