Los coches siempre influir�n la gente en todo el mundo, como s�mbolo de elegancia y poder. Nada mejor para ejemplificar esto que un coche deportivo, ligero, y que traduzca en cent�metros c�bicos las cifras de la cuenta corriente de su propietario.

En Brasil no pod�a ser diferente: el pa�s representaba un mercado ansioso de deportivos nacionales de gran potencia, pues los coches m�s potentes vendidos por alla eran importados de los Estados Unidos. Pero a principios de la d�cada del` 70, la situaci�n comenz� a cambiar, trayendo novedades, con el lanzamiento, en los primeros a�os de la d�cada, de dos coches que revolucionar�an el mercado.

El modelo fue lanzado en 1974, con l�neas que recordaban al Mustang, pero con una personalidad propia.

El tanque s�lo aceptaba gasolina azul, que era r�pidamente devorada, as� como los kil�metros en el asfalto. El modelo sufri� algunas modificaciones en los a�os siguientes y fue retirado del mercado en 1980, con muy poco del brillo y vivacidad de los primeros a�os.

En cambio, el Maverick GT se compraba con el coraz�n, porque de racional tenia poco.
