Purchased new August 10, 2002, the S2000 was/is my first and only Asian import owned minus owning a '93 NSX in '06. After finding S2KI.com and S2KCA.com, my wife and I joined our first "car club." Then, the modding began.... and it still hasn't stopped.
Shortly after being supercharged in '04, I went off between T9 & T10 at BeaveRun after hitting the rev limiter in 5th entering T9. My originally painted Sebring S2000 came back to life as a shaved and color-changed 370 rwhp sc'd Moonrock S2000. The car took 3rd place at the SEMA/IAS '05 show in Atlantic City in the "All Honda" class. I had no nitrous, big brake kit, race buckets, or rollbar. What I presented was a clean, detailed, dual-purpose vehicle complete with a custom in-dash monitor, Alpine nav, camcorder fed directly to the monitor, two 10" subs, two amps, PS2 and all with space left over for two walking golf bags! To boot, it was all removable in 25 minutes for track/autocross use.

A broken spark plug electrode danced in one of the cylinders and melted a piston. New block, head gasket, head work, and a smaller pulley get us to 397 rwhp/221 ft.lbs. only to have the head gasket fail while at the Dragon in Tennessee. Frustrated, I sold the supercharger and block. I then had InlinePro use my old block for their 2.5L build- 12:1 CR.
Long gone are the bling wheels, even for street use.

Gone is the softtop. Gone are the factory roll hoops and seatbelts.
Heck, I've even sold my NSX because I just couldn't quit funneling $$$ into the S2000!
This 68k mile car sees both street and track/autocross use. I will admit, getting in and out of a 6-pt. harness in work attire gets old. :) I do swap trunklids for the track in order to make use of an aftermarket wing, but the 500/550 springs stay on all the time.

After 3 productive track events, the 2.5L stroker is holding up nicely, garnering comments like, "What do you mean you're not supercharged?!" All hasn't been rosey, however, as I totalled my truck while towing the car in my trailer coming back from getting the car corner-weighted/aligned the first part of this May. Thankfully, the damage to the trailer and S2000 was manageable and I'll be at VIR June 14-15 again.
There you have it- the tip of the iceberg concerning the history and lore of my money pit. I have done everything possible in this car: I've driven it, dragged it, showed it, autocrossed it, tracked it, JUMPED it,

wrecked it, damaged a motor, and even... oops, can't tell you about that! ;) Do I think my S2000 and all the hard work I've put into her deserve to be picked? I do. And while I might not be the best pilot for her, she does photograph well!!! ;-D
