FUTURE BODY

Concept drawings by Devian B...
RedraifExtras's 1982 Pontiac Trans AmRedraifExtras's 1982 Pontiac Trans Am
He does AWESOME work!

The hood will be an American Sports Car Design RA II style. The headlights will be disabled and the pop ups gone. The hood will have the headlight doors shaved, so there is a smoother look.

As on RAIF....Door handles, antenna, and gas filler will be shaved. The other little stuff...4th gen mirrors...

Fresh 82 ideas:
Chrome mirror window tint...
Targa top...
tailights will be the Grid style TA taillights, but with the grids removed and the center and border painted body color.
Some type of spoked rim powder coated black or chrome (still undecided)...
This is what I'm leaning towards though...Mas Alloy's Sagitta (BMW wheel)
with graphite spokes and a polished lip..now discontinued though!

For the 82...19X8 up front & 19X9.5 in the rear...
Yes, 19's! Was wanting bigger, but with the HP and torque the wheels need some rubber to be able to handle the power and make use of it!

OK here is the rest of the big plan....

Since this car is an 82, its the right year to be a KITT car. But since I really do have the desire to do a full on replica, I'm going to only use the nose.
Speaking of the KITT nose....look what came home with me...

The car will be painted a Pewter Metallic (4th gen Firebird Color) Now for the interesting part. I have decided to put black flames on the car. So the nose will be black like KITT and flame into the pewter metallic. The headlights will be projector styled and will fit in the holes in the KITT nose. I'm thinking 1990 Chevy truck lights could work. A pair on each side.

My other dream idea just fell into place...I found a notch...It's an aftermarket notchback with removable glass. Darn this thing is sweet!

I am putting a Fiero GT spoiler on it with a bit of lift added to the height. We snagged it at a junk yard about a month ago and tried it on a near by bird and darn it if it does not look like it was made for the f-bodies.

The side gfx will incorporate dual side exhaust. We will probably go with oval exhaust pipes for clearance, but with retangular tips. For now the rear gfx will be from an 85-90 body style.

FUTURE ENGINE

It has to have the HP to back up its looks, so.....
It will have a LT1. We are rebuilding it now. I came out of a 94 Camaro. It will be a naturally aspirated 383.

Specs: LT1 383, Lingenfelter CNC ported heads, intake port matched by Lingenfelter, ported for a 58 MM throttle body, GTP6 cam (.568/.592 lift, 236/242 Duration, 112LSA), Eagle forged steel 3.75 dual stroke crank, Eagle H-beam rods, JE Pistons (Approx: 11.5 to 1 compression), 30 lbs/hr Ford injectors, Holley 58 mm throttle body, Hooker Super Competition headers.

I saw this LT1 at Super Chevy...

I would love to make mine look like this, but with a functional Ram Air box instead!

Now since its gonna have serious HP, I can't left RAIF be left behind...RAIF will get a 3.8L V-6 turbo motor...
Can't wait to see who comes out faster in the end!

FUTURE INTERIOR

This is the style steering wheel I rescued from P-A-P for the 82...

RedraifExtras's 1982 Pontiac Trans Am

It will get a wheelskins leather steering wheel grip cover in Blue and Black...

The interior will have black PMD seats.
RedraifExtras's 1982 Pontiac Trans AmRedraifExtras's 1982 Pontiac Trans Am
They will have Blue Racing harness seatbelts

Black carpet from Car Motorsports!.

The black and grey interior panels that were in RAIF will end up in him.
RedraifExtras's 1982 Pontiac Trans AmRedraifExtras's 1982 Pontiac Trans Am
Obviously the red piping with be changed to blue...
RedraifExtras's 1982 Pontiac Trans Am
Door panels...red piping swapped for blue again!

RAIF instead got all black, with red nauga soft trim. Finished out with Red & black PMDs.

The 82's dash will be custom made and painted body color. Or I might go with a early style 4th gen Camaro dash & smooth it and paint it. Not sure yet! I will make the headliner out of fiberglass and make a custom overhead console, since it will be a targa car! It will also be painted body color.
