I have used Dynamat for many years. It's a product I used to swear by. Not anymore. Second Skin is a thicker, cleaner and easier product to use then Dynamat. You also get it at a better price then Dynamat. Don't waste your money on Ram Mat or B Quiet. You may get it for less money but it will take more product to get the same results.

Thanks to Ant at Second Skin I tried Damplifier Pro on my Lancer.

The hatch is the first place to start. My exhaust is very loud on the inside.

I was very impressed with how easy the Damplifer Pro was to apply. It's just as sticky as Dynamat Extreme.

Carpeted over the deadener with trunk liner.

For this section I used Dynamat Extreme on the side panels in the hatch area. The factory deadening on the body was one square and a small closed cell foam pad in the side wall.

This is factory's idea of sound deadening. Not bad for the panel but it does nothing for the body.

Here is a before and after on the drivers side.

This is the after on the passanger side. I forgot to get the before picture.

The more I work with Dynamat Extreme the more I like the Second Skin. Extreme isn't very forgiving. It's harder to cut and a lot messier.

This is the rear hatch before and after.

After removing the rear the rear seat I found a simple rubber mat backed with cotton. Under that was the same sad stock deadener.

The under seat area was very easy to deaden. I reinstalled the stock rubber mat to help with the noise from the floor.

Upgrading the rear door sound deadening.

The rear doors are made from thin metal. Mitsubishis idea of sound deadening was styrofoam inserts.

The inner skin of the door was covered in Second Skin Damplifier Pro.

I cut pieces of ABS plastic to make access panels.

Second Skin Damplifer Pro was used on the back of the new panels to add support.

I used aluminum AC tape to seal the edges of the access panels.

Pulled the headliner and deadened the roof for a quiter ride.
