This is a 1 of 85 cutty supreme. Why you ask? 5 SPD TRANNY!!! oh ya thats right: im one lucky bastard. Now to make you cry and hate me more: i got it for FREE! Broken down on the side of the road.

The high pressure power steering line was blown and it had been spraying power steering fluid all over the altornator. Anybody who knows these motors well knows that it's an 8 hour flat rate job to re/re the altornator. So the owner called me (im a mobile mechanic) and told me not to worry about the car and said he took the plates off it and left it on the side of the road. I asked him if he wanted to sign it over to me and he said he would be glad to.

But the car had multiple problems. The silicone intake gasket was old and had cracked causing the car to idle at 3000rpm. The rad was blown and the car had been driven around for three days with no upper rad hose. needless to say, the head gaskets were blown. the car also needed valve seals. So, i took on the project. $2500, and countless hours later, i turned the key and she fired up. I was mingled with joy and dissapointment. The motor had a knock in it. I thought it was a valve hitting a piston. but i didn't understand why. all the timing marks were lined up and there was a new belt too. After 2 weeks of pulling my hair out, i figured out that i had 2 of the cams upside down. what a fucking ass backwards way of timing a car. there arent any key's for any of the 4 cam wheels.

So, after i figured that out, i set the cam's and she purred beautifully. My father and i went out for a joy ride and the car definatly impressed me. After porting the heads out, The car had way more power. Next mod will be a turbo. Then ill have it chiped. I just hope the tranny will hold up to that much power. The clutch already slips in 3rd a tiny bit and it's less that a year old.
