Update 03/22/2009

 Aaron's B-RUN Profile SPOTLIGHT

TEAM-GTO

Scott  Spielman (Driver) & Tom DeLong (co-driver)

If you have never seen Team GTO then most likely you are blind or have never been in the Bullrun.com forums. You see Scott is like me a very dedicated person. He does not just want to run in the event but he wants people to also find it a great hobby as well. He has always been willing to help those that ask and tries to give those with questions the answers they seek.

Scott is a family man that works as an aircraft mechanic in Beavercreek, OH. He has two boys that are just as involved in the families car as he is. Pattie, Scott's wife is understanding of his hobby and gives him the support to continue to strive for his goal. Being only 31 this is a well organized guy which I still believe is because of that great lady of his.

Scott isn't the only member of the team. Every team needs that map reader. In this team it is Tom. Tom is the guy Scott grew up with since he was 5 years old. He is also an avid car restorer, So with two gear heads that are driving for a goal they began to build up a car that is ready for just that challenge.

The Spielman 2004 Pontiac GTO. This car isn't afraid of the spotlight it was a featured car in an edition of  Pontiac Performance Magazine. It has to have the right passport to be featured in any type of car magazine. If anyone thinks that is easy to become a featured car. Then you have never tried to get your pride and joy into a magazine. It is almost an impossible feat and Scott has done it twice with this car. Even made the cover of one of them.   But this car is not just a Magazine car that is never slapped around on the open road. Scott just loves to burn the octane and smoke the tires. I have a small list of parts that Scott and Mike have crammed into this Spielman Edition car.

Parts List: LS1 Engine, with a 226/235 550/550 LSA Cam, Pacesetter Long tube headers, LS6 Valve Springs, and Hardened 7.450 Pushrods, New Era CAI/K&N Filter.

If you don't understand just what those parts can do to for this modern day GOAT. Do not feel to bad. I did not fully understand it myself at first. Then Scott helped bring me and many other forum readers to the light of a properly built GTO's capabilities.

You see this car can push 700hp and do 0 to 60 in as little as 4.6 sec. Yep! That is faster than most Italian supercars. The fuel consumption is still a very respectable 28 highway. So this car isn't just a showroom model that someone is asking for a chance. They built it for fun and this rally event is buckets of fun. So we have been told.

Scott and Mike are two very nice guys that should be given another look this time around. I know that they would be a great addtion to the Bullrun TV family and fans will come to enjoy the guys. I know that I have and would love to see them run. This team is ready for a close-up!

Update 12/25/2008

Merry Christmas!!  Hope you guys here got all the things you wanted, especially for your rides!  Was a pretty quiet christmas here in Beavercreek. Hope you all have a Happy New year too!!  And Please, if you haven't rated my car yet, feel free!! I need all the help I can get!

Update 12/05/2008,

TeamGTO didn't make the cut for this season of Bullrun, which is now on SpeedTV.  Good news to us fans though, it will be airing on Feb 9th, with an All new cast of competitors.  We were close, but in racing close isn't close enough to come out on top.. and I don't give up at all.  So its onto take two for us.  I did find a co-driver in Mike Pirnea who is gonna stick this out with me, and we'll give it our best shot in representing Pontiac, in Season 3.
