My RR is a very big and expensive science experiment. Until 2005, I had never changed a spark plug on anything in my life. That summer I changed the plug on my lawn mower. (no kidding).
Since then, I have done some things under the hood - other than changing the air filter or jumping somebody else's car.
And I have done some OBD-related stuff.
So, I would summarize my progress as follows:
I started as: Totally Clueless Noob.
Moved to: Clueless Noob.
Current level of ability: Noob.
I owe ALL of my progress - past, present, future - to the guys at
The body of knowledge they represent and their helpfulness is astounding. (totally UNPAID testimonial).
The entire site is awesome.
The Forum specific to my Range Rover's body style - called a p38a - is packed with real-deal experts from all over the planet - I mean experts and I mean all over the planet.
If you have a p38a Range Rover and have not checked it out:
1. unplug the phone from the wall
2. take the battery out of your cell phone
3. click on the link below.
You will be amazed. I am sooooo not kidding.
