This page is about my 1970 Toyota Land Cruiser that i bought from my uncle. It needs some work but it is in nice shape.
This is the toughest truck i have ever seen. It is a 1970 Land Cruiser FJ40 with an inline six and a 3 speed.
The tires are Conti Trac 32 inchers. I dont know what terrain they were designed for but they work great in the sand and mud.
All the emblems on it are original and are not repainted. This truck is very clean for a 32 year old truck.
The interior is also very clean. Everything on this truck works. It has a 3 on the tree with the remote 4WD.
The seats were reupholstered about 2-3 years ago and are very tough and comfortable.
The engine, trans, and transfer case are all original. It has the 1F 165 C.I. inline six motor. This motor is very strong and reliable.
This is the worst spot on the truck. All Land cruiser rust here unless the person who owned it forgot about it and never used it. I am getting aluminum diamond plate for the quarters and under the doors. It makes it look cooler and is stronger than Bondo or replacement sheet-metal.
The paint is only about 2 years old and is in great shape for an off-road truck that is out in the woods every weekend.
The interior i belive is the original paint and is in good condition. It has the heater in the front and it had the heater in the back but that wasnt in when i got it. the overall interior is great.
This is a picture of the top of the seats and the roll bar. The seat is a 3 (more like 2.5) person bench seat. I want to put lights on the roll bar when i take off the top.
The rope is for show and towin people out. This truck will never get stuck. I want new rims in either chrome or aluminum.
I would definetly want a PTO winch for the front of it but i cant seem to find one. If i cant find one im going to put a regular electric winch on the front.
The part where the axle meets the hub is seeled off so that nothing will get into it.
All the lights work. I believe this truck originaly came with a radio because it has the antenna mount on the side.
My friend told me this picture looks cool. I guess it is kinda. The driver side front fender is bent down a little, but it was like that before the repaint because there are no cracks in the paint.
The only problem with the motor is the choke on the carberatour. It doesnt want to move when I go to crank it the first time.
The motor is running strong but I am goin to try and see if I can rebuild it before next summer.
This truck came with just about every option. The only one it doesnt have is the manual throttle for the PTO winch or augger.
This is the original plate that explains to you how to use the remote 4WD under the dash and the Hi/Lo selection.
These are the back custom made seats. They are comfortable if u cnosider where you are sitting. To the right of it you can also see the electric heater that works off the front heater switch.
