Here is the car on the trailer after picking it up from the shipping company and seeing the car for the first time.

Some pics of the caar cleaned up and with the white 17" Rage wheels from my other Spirit.

8/14/07 New stuff
I got the A/C hoses rebuilt and got the A/C in.
I had a extra gauge pod so I made this gauge pod for the top of the steering wheel.
10-18-07 I finally got the steering column painted the right color.

10-29-08 Been kind of busy on the house and garage and other projects oh yeah and my 6 month old twin girls, so I havent done much as far as upgrades to this car so I'll just post up some pics of what I got done since my last post on here.
Here is my old speaker box that I took out cause it took up too much room.
And here is what it looks like now.

The new spaeker is a 8" Kicker Solo-Baric L5 and my amp is a Kicker DX350 that I have hidden in the trunk. Not as loud as the two 12" Kicker comps, but it still pretty good. Maybe some day I can build a box for the other side.
I had to be a little creative since it's not a Honda or a Mustang. I cant go and just buy a custom Speaker box for a Dodge Spirit!
I first layed outsome foil in the area I wanted the box to be and started to lay some layers of fiberglass. Once it dryed I pulled it out and peeled off the foil and added some more layers to the inside of the mold.

Then I built the frame out ouf 3/4" MDF and made it so if would fit inside the mold

Made the front and positioned the speaker so it was level cause the trunk seemed to have a slope and the box wasnt completely square

I screwed the fiber glass mold to the MDF frame, then fiberglassed them together and added some more layers. Not pictured I added a thick layer of stretchy material on the back and poured some resin on it to give it a extra thick later so it wouldnt flex and so the box would fit snug when it was in the car cause there is nothing holding it in place besides fitting into the contours of the trunk.

Then I used spray adhesive to put the carpet on the box that I had left over from a old box I made. I got the carpet from Crutchfield and the speaker terminal I stole from my box that had the two 12's. I also put some pillow stuffing on the inside of the box for some sound dampening material.
I was happy with the way it turned out and sounds, let me know what you think. Dustin
