Finally working on the car again. The engine bay, front panel and front wheel wells are painted with POR15. All the misc holes in the eng bay are filled and the strut tower tops are all tidied up (thanks Jon). Right now I am bolting the suspension together. Up front is a MADDAT SR20 mount kit and in the back is a penultimate crossmember. I got shox and springs from Troy Ermish. New steering and bushings throughout. Suspension is all in (not adjusted at all) and we sat the SR in there. Ian donated a set of wheels from his SE-R so that the car could roll around. I am short a motor mount so we have a temporary donor. We just loaded her up and drove her down to Auburn and dropped her off at TCMotorsports.net for a 6 point cage. They will be helping me set up the suspension when I get some tires for my SSR formula mesh wheels :) Next will be wiring, gauges and interior.
Check out how gross the engine bay is. There goes the wiring harness. Painless kit is on the way.
Prepping the eng bay.
Sealer/Primer then POR15
Front painted. Laying out new steering. Technotoytuning.com control rods.
Rear coilovers from Troy Ermish and the Subie limited slip.
The SR drops in quick and easy thanks to Mad Dat. Brad points out my temporary motor mount.
My friend Ian helps me scrape out the sound deadening before I hit the floor w/ a grinder. The next photos of the inside will have a cage and paint.
She gets loaded up on the Traksclothing.com trailer for the trip to Auburn.
Dropped off at TCMotorsports.net for the cage. They do great work and are super cool guys so I'm excited to see how it comes out.
I picked up the car from TCMotorsports today. I'm really happy with their work. The cage is fit so tight. Very very pleased. The only dash modification I need to make is cutting the dash pad. I can still use the stock dash bezels. I'm trying to balance an autoX/Track day car that is often street driven.
