'01 Miata Sport Package Braces

I just bought these, used.

These OEM Braces add Rigidity to the Frame of the car.
The Braces tie the Frame Rails together; Front, Middle and Rear.

They are the final pieces to complete my Sport Suspension upgrades.

I want More Power !

I want to stay Naturally Aspirated.

These are all extra parts that I gathered over time.
I am not on a time table to complete this Project.

Along with the E-Manage Ultimate, Wideband O2 and Tuning, I expect 25-30 HP and 25 ft./lb. increases.
I should get better MPG too.

'99 Cylinder Head : Disassembling for Hot Tanking.

I've decided to have Ballos Precision Machine do Mild Porting, with an eye towards Velocity, Unshrowded Valves, Backcut Valves and shaved .010". The Valve Seats will get a 3 angle grind.

New MazdaSpeed MX-5 Intake Cam

6-25-08 - Ordered Cam and New Lifters.
The MSM Cam is Back Ordered, Japan, with expected delivery on 8-8-08.

My '99 Intake Cam has 237* Duration / 8.28mm Lift.
The '04-'05 MSM Intake Cam has 260* Duration / 9.0mm Lift.
The '99 Cam Gear can still be used.
Eventually, I plan to get Adjustable Cam Gears.

Note :
Some people use a '99 Exhaust Cam, 250* / 8.9mm Lift.
They cut off the CAS Butt and use as an Intake Cam.
This also requires modifying the Stock Cam Gear.
I think my choice is better suited for what I want.
And No Machining is required

'99 Lower Intake Manifold :

I'll be doing very little to this Intake. Mainly clean-up excess casting, blending the Runners to Port Match with the Head. The focus will be on velocity.

'01 Header : I bought this extra Header to Mod.

I'll weld the outer Tube/Manifold Joints. Then I'll grind away the inner Tube Welds & Port to Gasket. Same grind and weld with the Collector.
